Crackout
Support: Immune
Venue: Tunbridge Wells Forum
Date: 14/01/03
I was very excited about this gig not only was it the first gig of the year for me it was also to be the third time seeing Crackout. This was the first gig of the year for them after taking a few months off to write the new album (due out sometime this year) the band were back yet again playing support for Inme. The fact Crackout were supporting one of my most hated bands wasn't enough to stop me from going to see this gig so I went.
After watching the soundchecks of tonights bands we hung about till the dorrs opened and everyone came flooding in. This was also a sell out gig so the place was packed with 14 year old's wearing black hoodies, at one point I looked behind me and all I saw was black and depressed faces the trademark of teenagers all over the world. After thinking how out of place and old I felt compared to everyone else the first band Immmune came on.
Immune were very good infact probably the best local support band I have seen at the forum they sounded like they could go far and probably will. 5 stars for them I say.
Crackout were next on, memorys of 10 months ago came back when they supported Seafood and impressed me but the question was would they make the same impression on me tonight. The answer was yes, after playing 'All This Colour' the crowd already seemed hyped up and I felt this was a good thing for Crackout seen as many people may not have heard of them. The highlight of the set apart from the old favorites (dumb fuck etc..) was 'Robots Have Feelings' which was very atmospheric with the programed keyboards and general sound. In conclusion I think Crackout have come far compared to one year ago, lets hope the new album does well.
After making a quick retreat to the back after Crackout I found myself talking to Steven and then after that left to suffer the noise that is Inme, I even gave them a chance by atleast staying there through the whole of the set. I still hate their music.
