| What are the pros and cons of being in Crackout? N: They arent any pros really just cons (Band laugh) N: You get to play music S: Its a pretty straight forward job, its quite a high pressure job though I guess now coz in the time you have to write a whole album. Its high pressure but I wouldnt say that was a con because its part of the job J: There arent any cons really N: I suppose just some of the idiots some of the business people and the inside things are a pain in the neck. S: Its a shame that this sounds so arty, I hesitate to use the word artist but as artist you have to be involved in the business side of things otherwise you get screwed really. Who in the band has the most annoying habit and what is it? S: We were discussing before you arrived how I havent said anything nice to Jack today everything I say to Jack is nasty. J: Cutting me down S: Everything, but its not that annoying is it? J: Its not annoying, like you said Im used to it I grew up with 2 brothers I spent my whole life being knocked down. N: I think my problem is Im too nice S: Youre just so nice its annoying J: I snort when I laugh N: Thats not annoying thats really funny S: And the fact youve been doing it now for 2 years and it still makes us laugh, but there I go being nasty again at him. J: Im crying inside coz youre laughing at me not with me, I dont sleep at night I just cry. See youre laughing at me now look K: Give him a hug S: Im not no What do you think of the support you get from your fans like on the message board? N: Im surprised theyre still going on it. S: Our fans are pretty good, nice to us. If someone likes what your doing its hard to say they disappoint you. Its the equivalent of someone coming up to you and saying I really like you. M: It most be awkward S: Well suppose but say when you get a email generally people are embarrassed to say that they really like you but your really embarrassed to be on the receiving end of that. So you just end up in a really awkward situation, so I generally ignore it and subscribe to mailing lists. N: The nicest thing I ever had was I was sitting in a pub over the road from a venue in Derby sitting with my friend having a quiet drink and this guy came up to us and said I really liked your show can I buy you a drink? It was really good. S: And he said yes Ill have a triple gin and tonic (laughter) Even now after all this time its still really satisfying at the end of a show when someone comes up and says they enjoy it. How did you guys get together? N: Steven and me were at school together and we met Jack through a friend of my mums. J: Through the mums N: Yeah the mum network (Laughter) S: The net work of mums, the underground tunnel network J: Yeah they held me captive underground until the band came up and the mums had released me. K: Youve had a hard life J: Exactly What has been your favorite gig played so far? J: Reading for me S: I think that Sum 41 thing we did, we played a gig with them in Manchester it was only us and them playing and anyone could have walked on and the crowd would have gone insane. That felt really good and I dont think we made the most of it. Some really small gigs have been amazing as well, the last gig we did here with Seafood like Aldershot as well on the Seafood tour, really small gigs but the whole place was jumping. How many suits do you have Nick? J: He spins down a pole and by the time he gets to the bottom hes all suited S: Youre like Batman but the other way round M: Why do you wear suits? N: Coz I can J: He just doesnt wear suits on stage its all the time constantly. Coz youre a freak. N: Its good sometimes when youre doing interviews and the people dont know who the fuck you are, they think Im the manager. S: Me and Jack are just left there and theyre just looking at me and Jack N: Because no managers ever sit in interviews with bands because theyre just like what is the manager doing in here. |
