1. Has the process of writing songs got any easier?
It's practically the same as we started but easier to repeat yourself nowadays so we have to watch that one. It's still 'fun' making a load noise with your mates however.

2. When you started out did you ever think you would still be around today?
When we started out I didn't think we'd get a gig down the local. We were just doing it for fun and as long as it's still mostly fun I can't see why we wouldn't be around, unless we got hit by a bus or something. Also see Q12.

3. How do you decide which songs will be used and which ones will not be used for the albums or as b-sides?
Most stuff we write gets used somewhere along the line even if it turns up as a middle 8 in some new song five or six years later. Songs that we think is a bit cheesy or weird usually end up as B-sides (20ft Halo, the Animal, etc.). It's not easy, as they sometimes come out better than expected, look at Wait For The Sun. We've also spent loads of cash on some album tracks (Strings, percussion, etc.) that in the end we thought didn't 'fit' on an album and didn't get used anywhere.

4. Is breaking America important to you?
I can't say it keeps me awake at night.

5. Any tips for anyone who wants to make it big in a band?
Stay lucky, and if you just want to be big in a band, your in a band for the wrong reason.

6. Are you for or against music being free from the Internet?
For but it really doesn't sound as good as vinyl.

7. Do you think there is life on other planets?
Yes, go ask Carl Sagan.

8. The Vines say you are one of their main influences, how do you feel about that?
Great, but I hope we're not responsible for the 'Tasmanian Devil' stage craft. They do cheer me up though, when I see them on the telly.

9. How did it come about that the Libertines tour with you?
Danny, and his trendy Camden connections.

10. What are your views on the amount of pop bands around today?

I don't know that I have one. The sort of bands I think your on about don't really have any relevance/resonance with my life (Smiths-Hang the DJ) but I'm not exactly 'bothered' by them they just exist. It's going to put other guitar bands out of a job but hopefully if they're that good they'll make it anyway.

11. Steve Lamacq is quite a fan of yours, was it a shock when you found out about him being taken off radio 1?
Another victim of fashion I think and look who they've got to replace him. Listen to Jonathan Ross on Radio 2 in protest.

12. What's the best thing about being in Supergrass?
Not having to grow up and get a real job.
