509th Composite Group

This is the large oval shaped planter built in the headquarters area of the 509th. The 509th was commanded by Col. Paul Tibbets and assigned to prepare and carry out the atomic bomb missions. This area was abandoned to the jungle for many years and only recently "rediscovered" by Andy Giles. Now there are a few trails and it is possible to see some of the area again.
