In Language Arts we are working through definitions and beginning to develop our skills in identifying charaters in a story; their personalities and the reasons behind the author choosing these specific characters.
We continue to work on our writing skills and have recently produced some amazing and creative stories based on our 'What is your dream' topic. |

Math |

In Math we are concentrating on Multiplication. We have been using a game called 'Circle and Stars' which challenges students to work in groups using a dice and home-made booklet to record a 'game' based on number of circles multiplied by number of stars. The numbers are taken from the roll of the dice. The game promotes all apsects Math as well as cooperative learning; interpersonal skills and intrapersonal skills. It's also a fun way to learn multiplication in a practical way. |

We continue to watch our caterpillars, anxiously waiting for a butterfly to appear!
Last week we discussed the stages in detail and this week we have demonstrated our learning through pictures and sentence strips, where the whole class did a great job!
Our caterpillars should be going into 'crysalis' any day now and then the children will place each crysalis into the butterfly house. If you are passing by, please come in and take a look, this has been a remarkable scienctific exploration for the class and is sure to encourage interest in science for many years to come! |
