I am Gayle Martin, 3rd Grade teacher here at Remus Elementary School. I am excited to be spending this year with your children and hope to get to know you all very well.
I have a busy acadmic history which began at Napier University in Edinburgh, Scotland where I received my Bachelor in Publishing. My Masters is in Educational Studies from the University of Newcastle in Australia and my teaching certification in Grades K-9 is from Dominican University in beautiful River Forest, Illinois. I am currently completing my Doctorate in Instructional Leadership from Northcentral University in Arizona, where I am a distance learner.
I am a dynamic and resourceful teaching professional with a genuine interest in students' cognitve and social growth.Within my teaching experience in the UK, Australia and China I have been actively involved in curriculum development, instructional strategies and learning environments, acknowleging the immense effect each of these has on a child's learning and educational success.
I strive to develop creative and effective instruction ensuring student achievement and addressing each child's individual needs. I combine a passion for teaching with a strong desire to improve and develop as a professional; gaining knowledege to bring back to the classroom.
Schools can be the most positive influence in creating an intelligent, informed and stable society and it is my goal to teach in a way which enhances and develops student knowlegde on a local and global scale; raising awareness of the importance each of my students' lives has on the world.
When I am not teaching my life revolves around my other passion in life; my husband Anson, along with our treasured four-legged babies, Wrigley the dog and Wilson the cat. My human family are spread all over the globe, but mostly in North East Scotland.
