By-Law Updates:

Colleen made the following changes in the By-Laws to bring them up to date:  we added Level 4’s, changed the word cluster to network and changed the minimum and mandate scores for Level 8 & 9.

Proposed Changes in the Zone Constitution:

A motion was made by Rhonda Miller and seconded by Jane Oberfield to the following:  Gymnasts joining programs from another YMCA Program during the competitive season (Oct. - April) must compete at the same Level she competed at her former YMCA.  Gymnasts joining team programs from another YMCA Program during the off season may be placed at the level the new team deems appropriate, however she may not drop back a level without going through the petition procedure.  All such transfers need to follow the Rules that Govern YMCA Competitive Sports.  Motion passed.

A motion was made by Casey Koenig and seconded by Debbie Comstock to add the following:  Each Quadrennial, when the USAG JO Committee makes significant changes in the compulsory routines or technical requirements, coaches will have the discretion to place their gymnasts in the appropriate level.  Motion passed.

Other New Business:

USAG is coming out with a new specific Jo code of points - no more yellow book.  You can order this one month after the Symposium from USAG.

We will be using some of the Zone Committee funds to seed two or three coaches to learn the new routines and come back and teach two clinics for the different areas.  These clinics will be held in mid July.  Casey and Kelly will be going from the Toledo Gymcats and we are looking to send one more.  The cost per person is $450.00 and it will be June 3-5 in Louisville, Kentucky.  We will be picking up mileage and lodging costs.   We are also looking at purchasing a video tape for each area to share.
