| 11-15-03 Hello All, Well we have been living in the travel trailer for over 2 months now! The foundation has been poured and the lumber comes next week. After that things should move along quickly. Oh the challenges of campsite living! The boys are doing great in school. Adam is playing basketball on the 8th grade team. Jon is playing on a 6th grade Amity team, but he plays in McMinnville. This will keep us busy for a while! All the boys are in a chess tournament today. This will be Codys first! The tournament is in Newberg (about 20 miles). Lorelei says she is going! I will have to go get her up soon! The animals are fine. We have one crazy female duck, that has decided to try and hatch some eggs this fall! We will let her set on them a while longer and see what happens. The chickens have either quit laying or are eating the eggs before we can get to them! Havent had time to deal with that. All of the wiring, piping, and filter equipment have finally been moved to the new pump house! The boys and I tore down the old eye sore and threw it on a burn pile last weekend. Last weekend Jon and I went over to the coast to go Salmon fishing. It is getting late in the year and I wasnt sure how the fishing would be. We pulled up to the 101 bridge on the Salmon river and there were only about 5 cars! That means the fish have all moved upstream. We decided to try anyway. As we approached the river we saw a large swirl in the water. Jon looks at me with eyes wide and hurries down to the bank. We hadnt been there an hour, when I cast out and was letting by lure sink. Just as I began to reel, I felt it stop, I reared back and I holler to Jon fish on. As I am fighting the fish, Jon reminds me that it was my great idea to not bring a net! Hmm well I didnt really figure on catching anything! So I finally get the fish near the bank and Jon steps out in the water and very skillfully grabs the tired fish by the tail! He hung on and we got her up on the bank! We gave away Salmon steaks to two families down the road and we still had enough for three meals ourselves! Got to go get the family up for the chess tournament! Glynn Jr. |
