Hello All,
Well we are doing well here in the "Great North Woods". The weather has settled in to a mild summer pattern. Day temps in the 70s and 80s, nights in the 50s. Not much rain. We have been eating strawberries by the bowl full! There was a week or so when we were picking two large mixing bowls full, every other day! We froze a bunch of them. Then the raspberries got ripe, and we have been eating bunches of them. Adam for the past week and a half has been in charge of taking care of our friends house nearby. They have a cherry orchard. We went over there a few evenings in a row and picked gallons of cherries! Now the blueberries are coming in season, and after that the blackberries will be ripe. We love this time of year! Jon spent the night at his friend Jeff's on Thursday, the one that lives on the big farm. His family is in the process of harvesting the Marion berries that they grow. Jon and Jeff volunteered to help. Apparently they harvest the berries during the day and sort them at night! Jon said they stood by a conveyor belt watching the berries go by and their job was to pick the red ones off. They started at 10:00 p.m. and he and Jeff went to bed at 1:00 a.m., Jeff's dad was still working when they went to bed! Jon came home and told me that he likes our spot in the country better than the farm. He said on the farm there is too many noisy tractors and other equipment always running. Jon brought home a big bowl of Marion berries!

Our garden is coming along. We have been eating carrots. The tomatoes are coming along, but not fast enough! We have cucumbers, beans, peppers and jalepenos  growing.

Cody is now officially 3! We had a little party with just us. On the 4th we barbecued and shot some fireworks. I took the Thursday and Friday after the 4th off and relaxed with the family a bit. We went for a long bike ride one day, and then on Saturday we went to see the "Spruce Goose". What a sight! That thing is huge! The museum is nearly complete and they don't quite have the Goose put completely back together but it was fun.

The boys and I went for a walk around the place yesterday. Cody always wants to pick the wild cherries. He squishes them to get the seeds out and then stuffs the "mush" that's left into his mouth. They really don't taste that good, I think he mostly just likes to squish them! Anyway by the time we got back he was covered with purple juice. I didn't bother to clean him up too much, because after that, the boys and I cooked hot dogs over the campfire and then roasted marshmallows. Cody loves roasted marshmallows! He eats them as fast as you can cook them. What a mess he was! Jon took him in gave him a good bath! I am sure that we will hear a shriek from the laundry room when his mother gets to the spot in the basket where we hid his clothes.

The animals are all doing well. Buddy needs a good trim and a bath! We will try and do that the next really warm day. The new hens have not begun laying yet, but should soon.

Lorelei is doing good. Her and Adam are doing better with allergies.

That's about it for now!
