| Hello All, Well Soccer season is winding down. This is the last Saturday that we will spend most of the day in town. Last Saturday Jon's game was very exciting. They played a team that I don't think has ever been beat! This team has a coach that YELLS at his players all the time. They are a very good team and usually win easily. We played them the first game of the season and we held our own, I think the score was 4 to 2. This year Jon's coaches are some parents that have done a great job. They have quietly and patiently taught the boys the skills they need. How to play their positions, where to be when and so on. The team's improvement has been quite noticeable. An employee for the parks and recreation that is in charge of the youth soccer shows up at every Amity game. He says he really enjoys watching our team. Anyway we played this tough team last Saturday. Jon played goalie the first half, and he was pelted with shots. He stopped most of them. Everyone was cheering. The score was tied at the half. We did not notice, but some of the parents and players on teams that were playing on the fields on either side of us were now watching our game. The second half was just as exciting and the game was a tie! I did not realize two gentlemen from the parks and recreation department were watching the game. They gathered the boys in the middle of the field and said they had never seen a more entertaining youth soccer game! After Jon's game we went and ate a huge Mexican lunch. Lorelei said "Adam should not be eating this huge lunch before his game". We went to Adam's game, and he scored two goals within the first 10 minutes of the game! Hey maybe we are on to something here! Adam is the spelling B champ for his school again this year. He will be going to the county regionals next month. He is working hard on his science project. The science fair is next Tuesday. He is playing the piano daily and making up more new songs. Cody is the same character he has always been. He figured out yesterday to empty all the toys out of his crates and stack them on top of each other to reach stuff on a shelf that I specifically built to put stuff on so he could not reach it. He was in the shower with his big brother Adam last night, Adam turned his back and Cody grabbed Lorelei's razor and sliced his thumb. One of the engineers at work is clearing a spot on his property and he has some downed trees he wanted removed. A friend and I went over and spent the evening cutting logs. We cut them in lengths that the two of us cut roll onto my flatbed trailer. My poor old truck strained but I got the load home. Now the fun part of cutting splitting and stacking! The spring Salmon run is on and looks like it will be a good one! Jon wants to go, so we must get the boat ready. We will try and go one evening next week. Lorelei is walking on her treadmill nearly every day. The weather is getting better so her and Cody are outside more and more. That's about it for now. Glynn Jr. |
