Puppetry has a long history of being treated like a poor relation to live theatre. So often it has been neglected by critics and scholars alike. This workshop endeavors to amend the situation by:
Proposing techniques for writing about puppetry performance
Examining a case study to see how others write about puppets
Providing a select bibliography of resource materials for the puppeteer/researcher
The participants will be encouraged to share their ideas and experiences to facilitate a continuing discussion of the ever-changing nature of puppet research and documentation.
