| Happy New Year!� 2007 was a great year with the Grand Ledge Right to Life and 2008 looks to be exciting as well. | ||||||||||||||||
| Here's a recap of some of last year's events: | ||||||||||||||||
| Congratulations to Isabella who was a winner for the 2007 Precious Baby Contest held during the Fall Festival in October.� 2nd place went to Elizabeth and 3rd went to Amara.� Voters Choice for girls winner was Delayne and for boys was Luke.� Thank you to all of our sponsors, contestants and voters for their support to help make our weekend a success.� | ||||||||||||||||
| On December 8 Grand Ledge Right to Life had a booth at the St. Michael's Craft Show.� It was our most successful year to date.� Thank you to all who donated items and baked goods. | ||||||||||||||||
| And now for the first half of this year: | ||||||||||||||||
| January 22 will mark 35 years of legalized abortion in the United States.� There will be a rally outside on the east steps of the State Capitol from 4:15 pm - 5:00pm.� To carpool, call Joanne at 627-7210. | ||||||||||||||||
| February 28 we will have our 8th annual Respect Life Soup Supper at LibertyChurch featuring speaker Dr. Larry Burns OB/GYN.� Dr. Burns has been involved with the pro-life movement since its inceptions in the late 1960's.� He served as president of the Grand Rapids Right to Life for 15 years and currently sits on the board of directors for both Grand Rapids Right to Life and Right to Life of Michigan.� Dr. Burns speaks on a variety of topics including the humanity of the unborn, stem cell and fetal tissue research, abortion methods and complications from abortion.� Social gathering is at 6:00p.m., dinner at 6:30p.m.� Tickets are $10/person, $18/couple, $70/table of 8, children 7-14 are $5, 6 and under are free.� For more information and reservations, call Joanne at 627-7210 or Donna at 622-4227 or email [email protected]. | ||||||||||||||||
| May 11 is Mother's Day and we will be selling carnations at local churches.� | ||||||||||||||||
