The Promise Of Rants Past, Present And Future

The title of this rant page(I Hate It Here) might sound like a direct reference and comment of admiration/advertisement for the Transmetropolitan comic and it's main character, Spider Jeruselum. It is, and, well, it isn't.

I read the comic, myself; and while I find Mr. Jeruselum to be the utterly worst person a human being could be without actively going out to hurt other people, I do find one thing about him to be VERY important in our day and age. This being a fundimental distrust of anything that "people who know better" say "You Must Do".

A Spider Jeruselum working at the Washington Post today would have kicked down the doors to the White House and shoved a microphone so far up William Clinton's nose that they'd have to have it surgically removed. Why? Because there's something wrong there and We Have To Know What. This, of course, assumes that Jeruselum didn't get fired well before hand for not pandering to the editoral bosses that are like Janus, double-faced.

So, here I am, with a web page. And a computer. What can I do? A whole damn lot. Why? Because, you can get this web page anywhere in the world. Nothing is stopping you except yourself. You want to come here and hear my opinion, you're welcome to come by. If not, you can Go Away, and let other people in. And, that's the power and beauty of the Internet, you can get away with a lot.

So, what I'm going to do here is establish a covenent. A covenent is like a contract, with much stricter terms if you fail to hold up your end of the bargan. What do I promise you?

  1. There will be at least one all-new Rant a week. If they have to stop for a bit, I'll let you know.
  2. The Rants will be as edgy and as raw as I can get without having to resort to murder.
  3. Anything I say in the Rants will be what I believe, 100%. No hypocracy.
  4. The Rants will be at least 200 words long, and no more than 2000 words long.

A lot, you might say? Perhaps. I want to think that I can pull it off, and by doing that, I can give people a chance to hear other thoughts, other ides.

So, sometime next week, I'll have the first rant up and running. Come back and remember-you came here knowing I'd tell the truth. If you can't handle it, you should have been better prepared.
