| ZYKLON � B � Blood Must Be Shed� Malicious Records Lord Pale : Norway�s ZYKLON B is a side project band made up of Aldrahn ( Dodheimsgard ) � vocals , Ihsahn ( Emperor ) � Keyboards , Samoth ( Emperor ) � Guitars , and Frost ( Satyricon ) � Drums . They play up tempo blackmetal style music , with lyrical themes on mass murderers , and general holocaust of mankind . The second track Bloodsoil was written by Bard Faust Eithun ( Previously of Emperor fame ) . This disc has only three tracks and lasts for a little over 10 mins , not exactly value for money but if you like this kind of stuff then its worth it . Aldrahn sings in a deep yelling voice rather than a blackmetal snat ( like his work on Dodheimsgard�s 666 International ) . The first two tracks breeze by and have a more generic blackmetal feel to them . But the last track Warfare , is where the band really shines , laden with droning atmospheric keyboards , guitar solos , and hate filled samples , and is the only song on the disc to break the 3 min barrier clocking in at 5:35 . Too bad they never released a full length !!! Favourite Tracks - All Mark � 8/10 SECOND OPINION Gloon : If you consider Manic to be a great vocal talent and appreciated Attila�s snore grunts then Aldrahn may just be your cup of tea. This album, aside form the �original� vocals on offer, is just your basic blackmetal funfare. Nothing more, nothing less. Favourite Tracks - Warfare Mark � 4/10 |
