Source Of Tide is Lord PZ�s ( Peccatum ) main band . Source Of Tide�s vocals consist of Lord PZ�s deep operatic clear vocals and occasional snats . The guitar work is heavy and melodic with some almost power metal like little leads . The keyboards are spacey and gothic at the same time , whilst the drumming fits in nicely at a mid range pace . Source Of Tide focus more on melody than speed like Borknagar , who could be their closet relation in terms of tempo and vocal comparison . All the songs are well written and structured and all the elements of the music are prominent in the mix and are an essential part of the overall sound . Lord PZ is one of my favourite vocalists in the scene , often majestic and powerful his vocal melodies are exceptional . I can�t really label this band in a particular genre because they don�t really fit into any . Ruins of Beauty is Source Of Tide�s 2nd album but guitarist Pendragon tells me their first album ( Dawn Of Tides ) was more like gothic rock and is no longer available . This is definitely one of the best and most original releases of 2000 .
