| Pyogenesis 'Ignis Creatio' Osmose , 1993 Lord Pale : Pyogenesis play a slow to mid paced blend of doomy deathmetal . Utilising mainly deep yet easily understandable death growls , Ignis Creatio ( a 5 Track mini cd ) also displays some clean male and female vocals as well as a few rare blackend rasps . Melodic riffs and acoustic passages occasionally intermingle with the deathy doom riffs as well as some light synth with the last song being a keyboard only track . Unfortuantly there are some rather cheesy lyrics and rocky riff breaks like the babyish chorus of 'Still Burn In Fire' and the unneccesary swearing in 'Underneath Orions Sword' . This aside however this is a fairly original sounding disc that is a promising glimpse of the bands future . Favourite Tracks - Like Tears ( In The Dust ) , On Soul Wings Mark - 6/10 Pyogenesis 'Sweet X Rated Nothings' Nuclear Blast , 1995 Lord Pale : Pyogenesis have come a long way since 1993's 'Ignis Creatio' developing their sound into a more commercial rocky at metal . The deathy vocals have more personality and the clean male vocals are used nearly as much as the growls . The guitars still have a crucnching bottom end but are no longer doomy or even deathy and are swamped with melodic riffs driving over the top . As well as adopting the rockier musical side of Ignis Creatio , Pyogenesis have also chosen to adopt the cheesier lyrical stance of that album with loads of unnneccesary swearing , pronographic and egotiscal lyrics . Acoustic intros are still fairly prelevant and as much as you want to hate this band they can still write a damn catchy tune . A few good songs surfaced many ruined by certain elements and a bunch of fillers make up the rest of the album , so its really a matter of whether or not you like their new musical direction . Overall an annoyingly obnoxious album you'll love to hate . Favourite Tracks - I'll Search , It's On Me , Through The Flame Mark - 6/10 |
