Psypheria - Plagues End
Independent, 2001
Gloon:
This three track demo from Psypheria acts as a hearty appetiser for their debut full length due out sometime early this year. Musically Psypheria are a unique beast, utilising and incorporating keyboards into their American Death Metal framework in a way not yet heard by these metal blasted ears. The keyboards are used prominently, not just as an afterthought and complement the Morbid Angelesque guitar arrangements perfectly. The keyboards also dont detract from the bands brutality, but rather add a kind of disturbing atmosphere to proceedings not so different from Ebony Lake. Psypheria have hit on something quite unexplored within the Death Metal community, adding a new element to their already talented brand of death. Keep a look out for their newy Embrace the Mutation, it promises to be something special.

SECOND OPINION
Lord Pale :
Warped semi technical deathmetal with keyboards . Usual influences apply , early Suffocation , Morbid Angel , as well as large doses of Ebony Lake and early Cradle Of Filth . Occasionally psychotic keyboards , at other times more generic , not bad , just not overly interesting .
Favourite Tracks - Insensate
