Gloon from the Full Metal Mayhem nailed down Frank from Aussie thrashers Enter VI and proceeded to hammer home truths out of him about Dreams, touring and their bloody wierd name.

Firstly a question I know you have probably been asked a thousand times in every interview, but hell I am gonna ask it anyway. Where the hell did the name Enter VI come from?
[Frank] Enter VI was from our drummer Adrian. You would have to ask him about what it means.

It states on your web that your goals are to set a 'new standard in progressive metal music, and to successfully combine the best elements of industrial power and thrash metal, while retaining a melodic undertone' Do you feel your goals were achieved through your 'Dreams' release or is this an on going quest and evolution for the future?
[Frank] Dreams was an album released to put as out there and catch peoples attention, the next one will show our full potential.

Another aim of the band is to appeal to a much wider audience than ordinary metal bands. How do you seek to achieve this without resorting to Nu-Metal dumbery and (dare I say it) rap crap?
[Frank] Coming back to your roots and producing riff-orientated music should do it.

Everyone who has reviewed 'Dreams' seems to have an opinion on who it sounds like and which bands must have influenced you in your music. Who do you feel has most in common with Enter VI and who were the role models for the band's sound and concept?
[Frank] Everything you can think of has influenced us from the original metal background, this is what keeps us motivated.

The Australian Metal scene, while healthy, is hardly a world heavy weight. Bands like Destroyer 666 and Abominator are signed to Eurpean labels and recently Alchemist and Blood Duster signed distribution deals through Relapse, but mostly the scene remains an untapped resource. What are some of the problems that Australian metal bands face when compared to the rest of their global cousins, and why is it so hard for Aussie acts to get signed?
[Frank] Realistically it's hard in Australian, labels don't look out at us for some reasons, but musically we are at the cutting egde.

Whats in the works regarding touring for the band and is their any support slots that your DYING to get on?
[Frank] We have had good contacts from Europe and some good line ups, this is the ultimate, travelling and spawning our music.

'Dreams' was released in 2000, whats the news on the recording front can we expect any new Enter VI anytime soon?
[Frank] New songs for 2002 and new album for early 2003.

Finally any final words, why should people check out Enter VI (because they slay - gloon) and what does the future hold for the band?
[Frank] Keep checking out our site and listening for us, who knows it may be soon we might come to a town near you.
