Childish Author
I write books for children. I have been frustrated in trying to get my work published. I am considering creating an on-line publishing service. I have already decided on the name Gloew Publishing. Under that name, I publish the monthly newletter of the Pasadena Motorcycle Club called theSputter. I hope to publish my own work, classics that are in the public domain and various other works in a paperless format. Electronic media must not be allowed to bring and end to literature.
In the meantime, I am writing what I want, including Heinz and Suzy, a fictionalized account of my parents flight from Nazi Germany and how they met in Shanghai.
I am having a great time writing a 007 novel entitled Blackgold. In it, I am trying to develop a James Bond who is a compromise between the character created by Ian Flemming and the Bond of film. I may never be able to do anything with because Bond may be some one's intellectual property.
I
have finished Billy Beckett in the Battle of Britain.
Billy Beckett is a test pilot of the distant future. He is trying to break
the "light barrier." As he approaches the speed of light, he is thrown
into a time warp. He finds himself in the middle of the Battle
of Britain.
I am beginning work on the
sequel, Billy Beckett at Midway.
I
co
mpleted a first draft of The Legend of Oog, the First Mathematician,
a picture book to introduce children to base 10 place value. Thanks to my good friend, Sandra, of Seeger's
Art who inspired and kept me going by
drawing this picture of Oog.
I have also written Kids, Fix Your Bike.
It will serve as a practical, readable manual that kids will have beside
them while working in the garage or driveway. I am looking it over to keep
it up to date with modern bikes.
I work on a book called Scraps
now and then. That title may change. I have been upset seeing very young
kids getting involved in gangs and
the effect that they have on education.
I hope that Scraps will be an interesting character study
and deal with the issue of gangs.
One day, I will get around to writing Breakfast
at Harvey's or maybe I'll call it, "Whadaya Mean, Downtowner?"
