| Virginia Vaughn has always had a natural aptitude for drawing and painting people and animals, specializing in dogs and horses. She has been a professional animal portrait artist for over 30 years. Virginia has taken courses in commercial art and fine art, which led to a long career as head of art departments at the Regional Institute for Social Welfare Research and then at the University of Georgia Instructional Resource Center. For 20 years the George Foster Peabody Awards Committee commissioned Virginia to do the portraits of their annual top broadcast journalist award winners among them were such notable journalists as Ed Bradley, John Chancellor, and Ted Turner. Virginias first love continues to be painting and drawing dogs and horses. Her work has appeared in several breed publications and her portraits are treasured by discriminating collectors throughout the USA and Canada. |
