This is a get to know me page: I'm a Master Carpenter, electrician and plumber by trades, and (former) General Contractor (GC for over 2 decades). Aside from the trades, my other roles included: Superintendent, Project Manager, Estimator and Consultant. I'm now a part-time Author/writer, first published in 2001, and a Green Collar Professional!

Currently writing a book on residential renovations (and a possible cable show to follow), and studying solar energy and alternative E-systems to expand into that arena. Other study topics of interest are: Physics, Philosophy (what I'm published in), Multiple Intelligence/s, Psychology, Sociology, and Earth & Space Sciences.

I'm smoke-free, petroleum-free, drug-free and alcohol-free. "In all things, moderation"; that's the motto I follow. Currently an omnivore but willing to be temporarily converted by a palate-teasing vegan chef! Still, I love to fish and hunt; I eat well and hike and bike a lot (no car!), so I'm physically as well as emotionally fit! Balance, or centeredness, is avoiding the extremes; the "Pendulum at Peace"! I live and teach the voluntary simplicity lifestyle paradigm!

I like CCM, smooth Jazz, New Age and Classical music. Media: I watch PBS, the National Geographic, Science, Discovery, Travel, Research and History channels, c-span, certain mlb & nfl games, but I avoid most the rest (too superficial & moronic). On the networks I only watch Lost, Numbers, Terminator and NCIS! Other than some adventure & SciFi, I watch mostly non-fiction/educational. Reality is far more intriguing than fiction anyway!

I like building websites (like this one and many others), web publishing; I read and write much online too (blogs, etc); got a wifi laptop w/a T-mobile phone that's also my modem, plus I hit the hotspots (Starbucks, Borders, etc). I love sleeping 9 hours per rotation! My IQ is 149 (TA3). I have a low carbon footprint, and conservative w/resources. I like hiking and primitive camping in National Parks, and have many miles logged on Amtrak: I travel a lot (Seattle, Chicago, Albuquerque, San Francisco, Atlanta, Phoenix, Denver, etc.)! I mostly use public transport or ride my bike or walk locally: I only fly in emergencies or to cross oceans. I'm a member of the Congress for the New Urbanism and the Union of Concerned Scientists. I am currently getting into writing legislation proposals (very interesting)! I'm itinerant, and thus looking to rent or share a box with other/s, in either Denver, Portland, Seattle, Dallas, New Orleans or any Urban setting that has excellent mass transit, major league teams, reasonable cost of living and an eclectic flair!

Historical Brief: I built forts and treehouses in the Missouri woods as a boy. I've been a designer and draftsperson since my teens; a veritable DaVinci in Shop. I've been a Carpenter since 1977, first as a residential framing and trim Carpenter, then later a commercial Union Carpenter attaining Journey status in 81. I did Retail Tenant Improvement (mall stores) and some stage work in Culver City while living in the O.C. in the early 80s! In 85 I returned to the Midwest (KC Metro), married, and became a Framing (GC) Contractor of track & custom homes, then I started designing/building them myself for resale (builder homes). Then, following divorce, I lived in Hawaii (90-96), first doing commercial work (high-rise hotel renovations and military base upgrades) via Union or in non-Union supervisory roles, then did residential renovations (hi-end kitchens & bath's, custom solid surface, Euro Cabinetry) as well as many fill-in jobs that were termite damage repairs to post-n-beam homes (and where I began home inspections). Returning mainland, I re-joined the Union and installed Laboratories (w/ ISEC) at University's, and high-end finish work at 5 star hotels. I later partnered and built AGI Contractors.com, but left it to my step-bro so I could escape LA! I lived in Denver for a year, returned to Hawaii for a year, but my (aging) family is all in KC, so I returned for a season due to issues that needed dealt with. I wanted to reset centrally on the map after being parked in the middle of the Pacific Ocean!
