(A) Teens4Tolerance is an organization setup by teens, for teens, advocating tolerance and acceptance of homosexual orientation in the Jewish community.
(Q) What is Homophibia and how is it relevant to me?
(A) Homophobia is defined as: a prejudice against homosexual people and homosexuality. Furthermore Prejudice is defined as: an irrational suspicion or hatred of a particular group, race, or religion. Which places homophobia in the same class as racism. Within the Jewish community, homophobia is widespread and in some instances encouraged.
(Q) Is all the information discussed on this site completely confidential?
(A) Absolutely! Everything on this site is monitered and designed by teenagers, the only administation that is not teen-aged is Rabbi Finkelstein (guidance).. We have gone through a meticulous search to find only the best, and most highly qualified adults for this position. Only the best will do.
(Q) Homosexulality seems to contradict my religiouse belife.
(A) The homosexual lifestyle is seemingly in contrast with Halachic Judiasm, however this is no justification for intolerance. Our goal here at Teens4Tolerance is not to adress the Halachic concerns but rather twords creating a more tolerant and accepting community.
(Q) Why would you want to do something like this if much of the volunteers are not homosexual?
(A) We are aware of how much verbal, physically and emotionally harm people can cause homosexuals. Unfortunitly this abuse often results in tragity. Suicide is the leading cause of death amongst Homosexual youth. A volunteer of our organization had a friend who for this reason commit suicide. By giving this issue an forum of education and dialoge we can hope to prevent there tragic deaths.
