| Wheel and Deal Marc Rich has more in common with the four Hasidic men than a presidential pardon. They are also acquaintances with Rabbi Ronnie Greenwald. He is from New Square, NY and has a history of negotiating for the release of prisoners. Greenwald had traded commodities through Rich's partner, Pincus Green (whom also received a pardon from Clinton.) The Rabbi has met with Rich on five occasions supplying him with commodities. Ronnie Greenwald's wheeling and dealing is not limited to commodities. He arranged for private armies to escort aluminum through Tajikistan. He helped raise $4,000,000 to pay a ransom to free a Guatemalan leftist rebel. He made 25 trips to the former East Germany negotiating the eventual freedom of Sharansky. Greenwald helped arrange a three-way swap involving a college student from Minneapolis, an Israeli held in Mozambique, and convicted Soviet spy Robert Thompson. He laid the groundwork for exchanging four U.S. spies in Cuba for four Puerto Ricans who shot up the House of Representatives building and tried to assassinate Harry Truman. Greenwald also served as a liaison for Richard Nixon, being assigned to the Northeast. Did Greenwald strike a deal with former President Clinton to pardon Marc Rich and the four Hasidic men? Was there money funneled to the Clinton library? Did Greenwald talk to Rabbi Twersky into having the village of New Square vote for Hillary Clinton? There seems to be too many coincidences to have Rich and the four Hasidic men pardoned by Clinton's good grace. --Michael P. Weinheimer 3/22/01 Return to Main Page Michael P.
