Religion was important to the ancient Greeks because they belived that it would make their lives better while they were living. They also belived the gods would take care of theme when they died.

The ancient greeks were polythestic, they belived in many diffrent gods and goddesses. The greek belived that these gods and goddeses controlled evrything,from the waves in the ocean to winner of a race. Each god or goddes controlled one or two majior aspects of life.

These greek belived that all of the gods and godesses lived at the top of mount olympis.As mentioned earlier,all of the gods and godesses had specific roles.For example,Zeus was the supreme leader of the gods.
