1.Ancient greek olympics

The Greeks invented Olympic athletic contests and
held them in honor of their gods.
But sports andcompetitions are part
of the history and culture of many
ancient civilization - including those
of Meso- America.They had to find a
way to celebratetheir gods.so they
foundsome way that they coluldcelebrate
their gods.Theyfound that their gods appricaited
the way they celebrated their gods.The
ancient greeks had looked at the their gods for
advise. And they had to find out a way to appriciate
their godsand they found a way.Slavery played a major
role in ancient Greek civilization. Slaves could be
found everywhere. They worked not only as domestic
servants, but as factory workers, shopkeepers.
Back then they had life ruff  an they couldnt direspect

2.The first olympic games
The first Olympic games at Olympia were held in 776 BC.
According to Hippias of Elis, who compiled a list of
Olympic victors c.400 BC, the only event held at the
first Olympics was the stadion footrace. Scholars have
speculated that the games in 776 BC were not the first
games, but rather the first games held after they were
organized into festivals held every four years.The ancient
greek were evrey four years.The ancient olympics were in
constant in acient geece.

Modren day olympics
Now the olympics are evrey 2 years now. Not now like
back in the ancient greek games.Pierre de Coubertin
was born in 1863 to a French aristocrat family.
He was an avid sportsman as a young man with rowing
being one of his favorites. Influenced by the events
of the late 19th century and his education.Now the 
olympics are evey 2 years.Like the 2000 olmpics in 
syndney autralia and now in 2004 the Athens olympics
this year.
