Their were more slaves then free people in ancient Greece.There were a lot of ways people became slave when they were young and some parents were slaves.The slvevary also came by afamily that needed money and they also might of slod one of the children into slavery.They would also kidnapp the daughter insted of saleing the them into slavery.
If you would work inside as a servent then you were treated more like a family.They were supervised by the woman of the house and she had to make share to keep them busy and didn't get out of line.
They were wealthy Greek household they would have like 10-20 slaves.The slaves could not enter the Gymnasium or the Public Assembly. They were not able to use their own name the master had to assigned their own name.Not all slavery in Greece were as tolerbale as that of domestic servent.Their police were were made up by mainly of slaves.Even the clerks at the tresuar office were slaves.Slavery was a role in ancient Greece.Greek civilization from domestic living to the infamous athenian naval feet.
