What is a Curriculum Vitae?
A Curriculum Vitae is a summary of your personal details, achievements and experiences. The purpose of your CV is to advertise your skills in order to gain an interview.
When producing your CV you should use a word processor and print on good quality paper. Always print copies, don't photocopy. Keep it brief - no more than two sides of A4 paper. You should adapt your CV for the job that you are applying for.
Hints and Tips for writing your CV:
Make sure that your CV is clear and easy to read.
Use headings to separate each section.
Use bullet points and indents to make it easy to read.
Keep sentences short.
Include all skills and achievements.
Check grammar and spelling.
Don't include unnecessary information.
Don't include pictures or photos unless requested.
Don't list full addresses of previous employers.
Don't be tempted to lie about your past or exaggerate.
