In my opinion all three were "invented" to keep the common masses down.
Think about it, what better way to control people and ensure total co-operation than fear? If you're not a good girl/boy you'll go to hell, so comply. If you don't believe totally in *** at all times the Devil (Evil) will get you, so comply. If you're not good in this life you're next life will be Bad, so comply. Is it not also interesting to note that it was the fear of the "Bad" that kept (and keeps!) people in line rather than the promise of something wonderful?
Evil, in my opinion, does not exist. Simple as that. All acts seen as Evil have a rational explanation behind them. Hitler (and I am most DEFINATELY NOT defending or justifying his actions!) was possibly mentally ill and was being given mis-information that he was a descendant of a Super-Race (Atlantis) and it was his destiny to fulfil the dream of one super-race on the planet, he was also very influenced by that much revered philosopher Plato and his work the Republic (which he mis-interpreted).
There is however both positive and negative Energy in the Universe. This is necessary as the the two when coming together create the relationship out of which we create reality. 3D, get it? The Negative energy can be amplified just as the Positive can with devastating effects (see above) and can be triggered unintentionally. Example? A simple one. Someone tells me something that has been said about a friend, I wish to protect that friend and tell her/him. The friend goes looking for the person who made the initial comment and blows up causing much long-term animosity and ill will unjustifiably as I mis-interpreted the comment made. A knock on/snowball effect. That's how wars start.
Karma, I was going to give this a page of it's own, (still might) but here goes.
I don't think Karma is related to different lives, I think it is related to our present physical existence. By that I mean that we have to understand that when we send out Positive energy through a selfless act, for instance, then at some point in the future we will benefit by that act being returned, in the same way that a Negative act will be returned at sometime in the future, but in this lifetime, not the next.This is confirmed by the fact that we "touch wood" when we openly voice a possibly negative outcome to a given situation. When we "externalize" a thought it goes out into the Universe one day to return (Karma style), we touch wood as it is an "earth", wood "grounds" the thought and prevents it being sent out. Karma, then, was the name given to the interaction of positive and negative energy and thoughts which was recognised but misinterpreted and used as a threat to keep people in line using the fear factor, instead of focusing on the postive side of things.
Did you think I'd forgotten about Hell? Nope. As evil does not exist then neither can Hell! The Devil resides in Hell supposedly, I think the devil is the personifcation of what happens if we allow ourselves to be overcome by negativity, fortunately the process is reversible!
