We like the night sky. We watch the night sky. I've done a lot with astronomy. I've written articles for Astronomy Magazine, the Women Astronomer, and various ezines. I've been the president of the local astro club. I've run online Astronomy Bulletin Boards both professionally  and amateur.. I've spend numerous hours observing and logging multiple stars, planetary occultations, eclipses,  comets, and  meteor showers.  Edward works for L-3 Communications Inc, in the Space Navigation Division. Specifically he  tests for failures the IEA box, an electrical box on the Solid Rocket Boosters of the Space Shuttle.  (We also observe satellites and the space shuttle launches, right from our front yard!)  First off, here are pictures of us by our scopes....

This picture of Jupiter was shot by Ed using a Sony PS Cybershot  Digital Camera, hand-held against the eypiece.   The central temperate belt is visible, to name one.
The Space Shuttle Bay Door is opened, as it is about to dock with the ISS, during one of the first docking missions.
The real workhorse of my scopes, the Orion eight inch Deep Space Explorer.  Here it is at rest :-) in the garage...
