Why.... hmm why did I write this, what is the purpose and why have I done it as it is. I explained a little in the site introduction as to a why but I think I will explain further here. Many might think an otaku/crossover hands itself to clich, and has most potential to be highly contrived. Weirdly enough when writing I found writing about senshi attacks the hardest, rather than interrelating lives when the senshi are normal. But anyway, lets start from the beginning.

My love of Sailor Moon began in October 2000, rather late perhaps but I didnt get Sky tv until around then and before was a conformist sheep with loves of Boyzone and other tweenie-pop icons. Then I began to branch out and follow less of the normal teenager mould. It actually began with music, I began to listen to rock and metal rather than boybands, quite a leap in about 3 months or so, (unfortunately now a love of rock and metal in particular almost credits you as a conformist sheep too, when I went to Camden in December 2000 the average person was a goth or metaller, 6 months later and Camden town became very fashionable with girls in heels and pink Miss Selfridge bags debating over Limp Bizkit t-shirts). Ok Im heading off on a rather obscure tangent here, so anyway.

It began with branching out into music, then I got into Pokemon, short lived but it reawoke in me the girl who forced herself to play with Barbies when she was 10 (to be normal) when at the time Id rather have had a Cheetara doll (yay Thundercats). Ive always loved cartoons more than most other forms of tv so I suppose a progression to anime is not so odd, and especially when I saw these 15 rated cartoons when tiddy and wondered how a cartoon could be 15. Gradually this led to DBZ on Cartoon Network and then I saw an advert for Sailor Moon, and thought it looked really cool. In my pre-sub days I watched anything oblivous, so the DiC dub doesnt annoy me that much (dont get me started on Cloverway though!).

I began to watch and love Sailor Moon, still is one of my absolute favourites two years and almost 70 odd shows on. Then I began to think about creating my own senshi, and without much research at the time I began to think in terms of the Zodiac. I wrote random bits at school, I drew at school and home, the original senshi pics were finished around Xmas 2000 (theres a little scribbled year date at the bottom of each). At the time, I was also a member of the GRPG, and was in the process of an FF8 character crossover with that. I dont know why I just like crossovers. So why is this fic a crossover with about 4 other series, well it was guided by taste and dreams. DBZ I used to like, and read a few SM/DBZ x-overs and in came my own love of x-overs. Dont get me wrong, I dislike the series now but I still think it works with the Saiya-jin invading forces. It is I suppose possible, and I formed a timeline too which I think explains how everything links in. Esa does not love Vegeta at all, it was forced, neither does she love Topaz. She hates them both but she has a great loyalty to Ria. The only person she truly loves in the long term is Cassie and perhaps Bradley (Ill come to Wei in a moment), yes her heart is fickle but only in its shallow intents. Why around Esa too, well the simple reason is the saiya-jin invasion and her death. She misses Cassie, she is dependent upon Cassie and plays around with time to her detriment.

The fic essentially revolves around four arcs, the Silver Millennium (please dont flame me for my religious theories, I know it was officially 1000 AD but to me historically that wouldnt work), the Present 1, the Present 2 and the future. The Silver Millennium is not really a prologue as such, but could standalone and it sets up the activities of the future. The Present 1 is purely an Otaku senshi fiction; no other characters merely the Zodiacs fighting a revived Negaverse. Then it fast forwards to the Future, only a little crossover, just Vegeta really and Trunks. I cant handle explaining the rest of the cast. The major crossover is the Present 2, it could be thought of as the fangirlish arc but also I like it because it takes a little away from the actual senshi battles and concentrates on them as people. I suppose I could have done it non-x-over but it is also more fun this way! My justification for the x-overs is as follows, besides it does seem somehow fitting that extra ordinary girls have extra ordinary male folk rather than some more generic males. I could have done my own characters (created enough women) but I guess its my own personal Big Brother approach, - chuck em all together and see how they react - . Anyway the justification I wrote (to accompany character profiles but it seems better here)

During the series, the effective fiddling around with time as the senshi go back and forth through Plutos Gate of Time, invariably causes glitches with the system. Various new people start to appear (much to the shock of the senshi as characters seem to come to life, but they reason that since Sailor Moon was real, no reason for it not to occur again). From a future only 300 years ahead come four boys, four of the five Gundam pilots, from a parallel world (yes this deranged authoress believes in the existence of Planes, no not the things that fly, Astral Planes) come another four (oooh they all come in fours do these lovely boys). This one in particular astounds the senshi (and slightly worries them), but not to a certain amount of glee as the four who were searching for the West suddenly find themselves stranded in the strange world of merry old England circa 2001. Finally, three others eventually arrive (from an anime but not in the context of the fic) after one of them is effectively sacked from his job. And the group then moulds together, the boys, the girls, and they piss the hell out of everyone else by speaking in their common secret tongue (theyre all a little bit different after all) of Japanese. So bring in the male element and welcome to the slightly zanier element of the Zodiac series (well had to have a little playfulness in the seriousness). And the time thing, it at least poses a justification and reasoning for all the boys (gets a little fangirl moment coming on). ^-^

Therefore a little explanation of the fiction, I admit it is a cross-over and Im sorry if it does seem contrived but I guess this is just how I wrote it. Then again it is fanfiction and a little bit of fan-ness (does that word exist?) cant hurt too much.

Oh and also, these characters portrayed here are my own, created in the year 2000, any similarity to any other otaku senshi (particularly other Zodiac senshi) was not meant at all. I wrote these characters before I knew of other otaku senshi and if there are similarities it is not necessarily my fault and I didnt mean to cause offence.
