M.A.X.
Mutants Against Xavier
The title of Mutants Against Xavier would give one the impression that this group allies themsleves with fallen terrorist Magneto against Xavier's dreams of peaceful unity.  However, M.A.X. is also at odds with Magneto.  M.A.X. is anti-mutant group comprising almost completly of mutants, quite a oxymoron wrapped up in a paradox.  M.A.X. is founded on the Bible as interpreted by currently missing Reverend Stryker.  According to them, mutation is a curse inflicted on the world by God for its unholy behavior and Charles Xavier and his X-Men are demons who enjoy their unholiness.  M.A.X. seeks to destroy mutants and ensure a holy and safe world for humans and hope that in doing so they will be forgiven by God and given a special place in Heaven.  While embraced by some members of civilian society, the majority of the world remains skeptical of M.A.X. and its seemingly oxymoronic quest, though relieved that humans are not their target.
Elijah Price is the engimatic founder and leader of M.A.X.  He rarely accompies his fellow members into battle and therefore not much is known of his abilities, if he is even a mutant.  However, there have been rumors from several knowledgable sources that Price has powerful mind manipulation abilities, which adds even more suspicion to his group.
Bronson Payne is the powerhouse of the group.  Payne emits a constant radioactive charge which serves to increase his strength, healing and speed to a super human level.  He can also use his radioactive charge to poison a person's bloodstream and kill them instantly or slowly.  Bronson is the youngest member of the group and the most enthusiastic without his teammates' years of experience.  When Bronson was 18, he enlisted in the Marines and it was there that this homeboy from Rhode Island discovered his mutant abilities when he accidently killed his drill commander.  Bronson is eager to be accepted by Elijah and claims that he even killed his mutant relative to prove his conviction.
Irish Aidan Hubris is perhaps even more mysterious than leader Elijah Price and is rarely seen in public.  Aidan is hyper-intelligent and is nearly omniscent and therefore serves as M.A.X.'s brain, providing the group with information, cutting edge technology and religious insight.  Not much is known about him besides his first name Aidan; Hubris as a last name has just been assigned to him by the press, alluding to the Greek drama concept of large amounts of pride and ego lead to a fall from grace.  This seems particulary relevant for a man who claims to know as much as God.
Lillian Crawley is no stranger to the world of the X-Men.  Under the alias Diamond Lil, Lillian served the criminal Omega Flight before being pardoned and marrying former enemy, Alpha Flight's Madison Jeffires.  While looking for her missing husband, Lil was forcibly sedated and restrained at Department H where she was experimented upon.  Lil was infected with the Weapon X bacteria before being rescued by Alpha Flight and her husband.  While Lil's diamond hard skin made her invunerable to the virus, Madison soon died from a Weapon X bacteria related illness.  Many consider this loss to be the reason behind Lil's return to crime and her bitterness towards Xavier and other mutants.
With his outrageous and extraverted behavior, Connor Reily appears to be the least mysterious member of the group.  However, just the opposite is the case.  Connor is a powerful shape-shifter who has few scruples concerning his power.  Connor also has the ability to absorb other people's psyches in order to keep his appearance youthful and therefore no one knows for sure his age or even his real name.  He has successfully posed as everything from a medical doctor to a rock star and brags that he has been several American presidents as well.
M.A.X. seeks to become a worldwide orginatizon of fighters, politicans and religious figures.  Currrently, M.A.X. has locations in Tokyo, South Africa, Isreal, Rome, New York, Los Angelos and has it headquaters in Washington D.C.
