General

1) Don't take make-up...it won't get worn and it might get lost. Everyone else looks like ming so don't worry.
2) A torch is essential. Don't forget to take it with you if you're planning on spending all day in the arena because it will be dark by the time you get out.
3) Even though they are pricey, buy a program as it will have all the times the bands are playing etc....very useful :D
4) Take MANY binbags as they come in handy for tent waterproofing, makeshift rain wear and (suprisingly) bins!
5) Avoid the evening session tent mosh pit. It is lethal and bad for short people like myself. This is because no-one at the back can see anything so they all push forward, thus resulting in a massive crush where people (like me) get hurt.
6) Keep all your valuables together in a safe place and never leave them in your tent while you're not there.
7) Take your mobile phone and make sure it's got loads of credit because chances are you will use it a lot to meet up with people etc.
8) Try not to spend all your time with the same people...they will get on your nerves. This is why it's good to go in a large group.
9) Wait until the last day to buy your clothes and other purchases from the stalls because they will often sell things at knock-down prices.
10) Have a camp fire but DON'T burn plastic pot noodle packets on it or beer cans...eugh the fumes and smell.
11) Try not to camp next to complete idiots who shout to each other at 7am.
12) Don't take a tent that is not waterproof and leaks...this is bad as we found out because when it rains your stuff gets wet.

Clothes

1) Don't bring too many clothes...you won't wear them. Take only what you will need.
2) Take a pair of thick socks for night-time
3) Bring warm clothes like a jumper and a fleece for when it's cold at night.
4) Take 2 pairs of trousers (not jeans if you can help it) as you will need a fairly
clean pair to go home in and something non muddy to wear at night.
5) Have a waterproof coat that IS waterproof in heavy downpours.

Toilets

1) When using the porta loos try to avoid the ones all the guys are waiting for. Instead make conversation with the girlies and you will quickly find out which toilet is the best...believe me!
2) Avoid the toilets AT ALL COSTS when they are being cleaned out. The smell WILL make you want to chuck.
3) If you camp near a bushy/woodland area make full use of this free toilet facility at night when no-one can see you.
4) Try and wait until you get into the arena as these toilets are slightly better than the campsite ones.
5) If you really can't bear the campsite bogs and you fancy a bit of a long walk, try the toilets in the 'Oracle' shopping centre in Reading. Long walk but niiiiice toilets :)

Food and Drink

1) Take your own food and drink because the site and arena prices are awful (1.50 for a small bottle of water outside the arena...2 a bottle inside the arena! Coke and other drinks are even more pricey) For food I suggest Pot noodles or cuppa soup and cereal bars - basically eat as little as possible to avoid going to the toilet a lot.
2) Take lotsa water with you because you'll be drinking a lot of alcohol which dehydrates you.
3) If you are getting short on food or drink, walk into town in the morning and head for
Sainsburys or Iceland. A huge bottle of water is something like 1 there...much cheaper!
4) Try and smuggle in an empty bottle of water into the arena (after the first day they tend not to check people's bags so much). Then simply fill up the bottle at one of the water points...you've just saved yourself 2. Oo and don't forget to fill it up before you leave...free water :)
