| Due to family and work obligations, I find I do not have the time to treat this car as it should be treated. Asking $4,500 Located near Kansas City, Missouri. It had been my daily driver for 12 1/2 years, until a recent (3/00) transmission leak. In October of 2000, I had a 525 w/ 555 gears built by Cliff Ramsdell, installed as well a a new clutch. I have the original transmission in unknown condition that goes with the car. Some information: I purchased the car from the original owner in December of 1987, with 5K on the clock. Car was owned by responsible adult couple and was the wife's car. I have never had this car on a track. I never seriously raced the car. It was my only transportation, therefore it was treated with respect. A rod knock was repaired under warranty in the Spring of 1988. A chance encounter with a deer, required the replacement of the passenger front fender, passenger rear quarter was repaired, grill, front spoiler. An icy bridge and a gentleman unfamiliar with winter driving caused the left rear quarter, wheel, and axle to be replaced In 1993 (?). The usual paint failure started on the hood, so the car spent way longer than it should have, getting the entire car repainted, at this time, I had the right rear quarter replaced, since I never liked the quality of the "deer" repair. 1995 brought a hail storm that dented up the horizontal surfaces, this was repaired via paintless dent removal, I think they did a great job. I have had several head gaskets, the front K-frame, several alternators, the starter, the AC compressor, clutch, . . . replaced over the years. A recent set of repairs I think in the 1998 timeframe (I have receipts somewhere if the dates are really important.) include: rear brakes, bearings, drums, head gasket, timing belt, other belts, hoses, turbo rebuilt Current condition: Around 115,000 miles. The engine runs fine, and has had a fair share of preventative measures taken. Original computer gives a code, so now running on custom built 14 p.s.i. module Has oil leak(s) at some gasket, not helped by the Mobil 1 it runs. AC needs charged, I believe it leaks at/in the fill valve. Still has original exhaust system. Exterior is in good condition. Car has some parking lot dings. Interior needs help, shows the full 15 years of wear. All Shelby parts intact. I was told it is time for the Konis to be rebuilt, although I have had other tell me they are fine. Probably needs tires (I noticed a couple of low tires over the weekend, so potentially some leaks) Windshield has two stone hits, but it has passed MO inspection for many years as is (most recently December 2000). Spares: 3 repairable (what I was told, sold as is) 1986 Centurions, two have tires mounted currently (only good thing about above wrecks) passenger doors (front and rear) rear hatch bunch of small misc. stuff. I will not sell parts, unless the car sells without them. I can likely arrange for a MWSDAC member to look at the car a render an independent opinion. |
