SO...

RUMOR
CENTRAL:

For those who have heard the "rumor" yes, I have fallen head over heels in love. Now before you run to look at her photo it is important to remember that while she is a bit "stiff" and many people have told me that her smile looks a little phoney and painted on, you have to remember that she is the love of my life. So, as cardboard as she might seem - she is my heart's darling.

It's me. Glenn. Remember me? Glenn Koshut.

As promised - I said I would keep in touch with everyone but, you know how bad I am about that sort of thing. Rather than lose friends, I decided to put up this little webpage so that you can see photos of how we are doing and also, to give you a peek into the world of ... people who live by the ocean.

NO! The OTHER ocean!

I know you're going to ask SO ... the new job is going well. I miss everyone but, this is a lot of fun. I can't quite believe I did this but, this life change is going quite well. It is an adventure.

SO, how am I doing?

Well, the house is nice. Its old and has this charm to it. Its a little on the "big" side but, we are adjusting. Plus, I kind of like being able to spread out a bit. It is certainly not cramped. Wish I had more furniture to fill it with though. One item of note, there are no mountains and there are trees everywhere. And there is grass.

Now I remember why people move out west.

I have decided I hate mowing the lawn. I'm not sure if the neighbors would appreciate it but, I'm tempted to cement the whole yard. There is also a small garden in the backyard and a beautiful bush in the front that is bright yellow. The lady next door told me that the green hedge things on the side of the house are rhodendrums which, she claims, are beautiful when they are in bloom. To me it just looks like something that will require more work. We'll see.

Glenn Koshut - crabfest!SO, we went "crabbing." Let me tell you, that was an experience. We brought home a whole bushel basket of these living crab creatures and steamed them up with a concoction called "Old Bay." Then, we spread newspapers on the table and cracked them open with mallets. I liked it but, I also discovered that while they say "all the white parts are edible" they don't mean it. There is one horribly wicked white part that had the texture of a cat's tongue. I nearly threw up.

We also found this place where you can buy seafood - cheap. Its like a Farmer's Market for seafood. It smells to high heaven (as you can imagine) but the prices were great and the seafood is fresh and plentiful. I bought two lobsters for a song.

Then we tackled the Smithsonian. Wasn't crazy about the idea of going there but, once we got there, I was in awe. I need to go back there. It really was incredible. It was like our history come to life.

Glenn Koshut - Glen Burnie, MDThe best part for me though, is Anapolis. We went to Anapolis shortly after we arrived and it is now becoming my favorite place in the world. I can't explain why. We went one Saturday and I couldn't tear myself away. I sat on some rocks and just stared out at the water, thinking. I was there about three hours, at least. The sounds of the waves lapping against the rocks and the ocean breeze. Amazing. And, I even shared my food with the seagulls. Got a wicked sunburn from the whole thing, but, it was truly worth it.

We also drove down to D.C. and walked around the mall. The Vietnam Memorial is not as impressive as I thought it would be but, it also was not as unimpressive as it could be. In fact, it didn't even register what it was when I first saw it.

I am also TRYING to becoming an Orioles fan. And I am also intrigued by the squirrels they have here. Not sure I like these little furry monsters tearing around everywhere. Oz is loving it though. He nearly caught one the other day. He'll learn.

There are a few things I don't like. The way they pronounce my name is one of them. For some reason when they see "Koshut" they say "co-SHUT." Everyone does it. It's "kuh-SHOOT." At least they can say, "Glenn" without a problem. The folks here do have an accent. You should hear them say Baltimore. They call it "ballmore."

Glenn Koshut - Isn't he cute? And the way they drive is a little strange, too. You have to see it to appreciate it though.

I'm still getting lost everywhere I go but, at least I can get to work and the grocery store - what else matters, right?

Well, I will update this periodically and put up photos shortly. Check back soon.

Love to all!
Glenn
