| Name: Ben Thatcher Place of Birth: Swindon Date of Birth: 30/11/75 Height: 5 ft 10in Maxtheyid Rating: One of my favorite players at the club and without doubt the hardest players in the league. Absolutly solid defender who takes no prisoners on the pitch. Has become famous for his crunching challenges and all round dangerous play. He is also a talented left back who has improved considrerably under Glenn Hoddle. Fatch always gives 100% and is always willing to (literally) fight for the cause. Has become a cult hero with the fans due to his aggresive nature and hard work rate. Ben has been likened to Stuart Pearce but in my opinion Pearce is a wuss compared to the Fatch. Ex-Spurs legend Joe Kinnear has tipped Ben for full England caps and if he continues to improve at the current rate then Kinnears prophecy will surely come true. Maxtheyid's Favorite Thatcher Moment: When he bossed surly Alan Smith against Leeds when we beat them 1-0. The ball was rolling out of play and both Smith and Fowler were ushering the ball out of play. From nowhere Thatch steamrollered both players to the floor in a blatant attempt to hurt both players. Smith didn't do a damn thing, untill Sheringham came over and had a go. Smith was too scared to have a go at Thatcher so he had a go at Shezzer, whilst Ben laughed on in the background. I also admired the way he had a go at Anelka when we beat Liverpool to end thier championship quest. The Ex-scum striker was also scared of the Thatch. |
