Always gives 100% on the pitch and offers encouragment to his colleagues on a regular basis. The defensive midfielder breaks opposition play down by harrying opponents and blocking both passes and shots. The former German International is quietly effective and his absence in the team is often reflected by poor results. Freund isn't the most technically gifted player but uses his strenghts well and is improving on his weakneses. Shows the enthusiasm of a 20 year old and has a love for his club. I don't mind his as a squad player but hopefully he will not feature in the first team next season. Maxtheyid's Favorite Freund Moment: His shot from 25 yards against West Ham in the League. Part of Freunds character is the fact that he is yet to score for the club and every Spurs fan held thier breath when he unleashed a rocket! Unfortunately for Steffen the shot was palmed away but the look on his face showed he really enjoyed having a go at goal, the Spurs fans now ironically call for him to shoot whenever he gets the ball in the opposition half! |
