| Name: Darren Anderton Place of Birth: Southampton Date of Birth: 03/03/72 Height: 6 ft 1in Maxtheyid rating: Influential midfielder and key member of our first team. Known as 'Sicknote' over the years due to his constant injury problems but seems to have won the battle and 'nailed that horrible nickname to the mast' according to Hoddle. Always seems to hit form with an International tournemant on the horizon (How convenient!) although this year he seems to have really improved his all round game. I have been very impressed with his workrate and always tracks back after an attack breaks down. A solid passer of the ball who has a good understanding with Sheringham, with whom he linked up with to great effect in the early years. An all round player who chips in with important goals, assists and tackles in times of need. credit must go to hoddle for changing Dazza's training routine and getting him back to his best. Maxtheyid's Favorite Anderton moment: His absolute rocket of a goal against Leeds in the F.A cup fifth round a few years ago. Ginola and Dazza were on fire as we crushed dirty Leeds 3-1, Anderton's goal being the icing on the cake. |
