Binomials

Binomials are expressions where two words are joined - usually by 'and' .The order of the words is fixed.

Give and take - compromise
Part and parcel of.... - a part of ...
Wine and dine - entertain with food and drink
Peace and quiet - Calm,no noise
First and foremost - First of all
Here and there - Scattered around
Now and then - Sometimes
RAnting and raving - Shouting angrily
On and off - Occasionally

Back and forth - Going from one place to the other continuously
Down and out - Homeless and with no money
Out and about - Going out
Leaps and bounds - Big jumps

Binomials without 'and'

Give or take - Thereabouts,roughly
Back to front - The wrong way
Slowly but surely - Gradually
Sooner or later - Sometime or day
Take it or leave it
