Body 2: The Federalists were characterized as having an idea of loose constructionism.
Main idea 1: The Federalists believed in being creative or loose with the terms of the Constitution.
Main idea 2: They would prove this to be accurate when they adopted Macon’s Bill No. 2 in 1810.
Main idea 3: They had an idea that if they wanted to do something that was not in the constitution, it would be accepted to create a new law or bill passed under any circumstance.
