FILM

Oh, let's start with the corporate mega-machine of Hollywood.
The Hollywood Reporter
"This site offers continually updated news briefs from the entertainment and media worlds." And for a mere $9.95 a month, you can be a subscriber. Pah!
Hollywood Online "Hollywood Online is the premier Web site covering both Hollywood and the motion picture industry."
And when you get tired of the eye candy, maybe you want to take a dip into the Indie scene.
Chicago International Film Festival
In October: "The annual Chicago International Film Festival is organized and presented by Cinema/Chicago, a not-for-profit cultural and educational organization founded in 1964 to seek and discover films representing the highest level of artistic excellence; to utilize cinema as a tool for education and discourse; and to promote international communication and celebrate cultural diversity through film."
Chicago Underground Film Festival
No bullshit here. Founded in 1994, they hold a festival of avant-garde Indies in August. This year, John Waters is going to be guest of honor.
Sundance Film Festival
With the Indie scene booming, I can't tell anymore if this site is for artists or for hipsters with a Visa Platinum Card.
Film Scouts
Finally, a voice of sanity in this world of glitz and schmooze. Go to the movies, enter the theater. It's hushed and muffled, and you know it's a different world.
Resources to help you find the film you want to cuddle up with.
Internet Movie Database
This is a pretty accurate site -- for both television and film. It's the first place I look when I become obsessed with an actor. Of late, it's been Dylan McDermott
