[The following is an editorial letter tendered to The Blade (Toledo, Ohio), just prior to the "Nazi" demonstration (led by Bill White), and the reactive Negro rioting, of October 2005. The Blade declined to print the letter, which never saw print.]

"Letter to the Editor of The (Toledo) Blade"

It appears that a sort of political comedy of errors is set to occur in Toledo this Saturday. Although it is the Nazis who will be parading around town porting their idea of bib-and-tucker, the greater part of this clown show lies not with them, but with their opposition.

Concerning the anti-Nazis, I couldnt help but to notice that their signs and other supplies had been printed-up and delivered to them. These arent the homemade signs and other demonstration paraphernalia, which are usually carried by a gaggle of lefty supporters. Though the anti-Nazis do not quite qualify as a rent-a-mob, theyre nonetheless a rather prefabricated and pre-positioned an assemblage. No individual thought or initiative is necessary on the part of the anti-Nazi, he simply has to follow the marching orders emanating fromsomewhere. The appearance and presentation of the anti-Nazis is a little more contrived than one would expect for a self-proclaimed grass-roots collaborative effort. I wonder: just which foundations and government agencies subsidize, or extend tax-exempt status to, these grass-roots community organizations? They do seem to like to dabble in politics, apparently having the time, capital, and Establishment support.

And this entire anti-Nazi counter-manifestation is aimed only at preventing the Nazis from expressing their admittedly unpopular views, which are protected under the First Amendment (just as their persons and paraphernalia are protected under the Fourth and Fifth). The Nazis are fully within their rights. Remember that the First Amendment isnt only for Republicans and Democrats, and others holding normal views; it also applies to Communists, Greens, Libertarians, Vegetarians, Nazis, and you. What galling hypocrisy on the part of this anti-Nazi cabal of organizations, using Establishment support in suppressing a minority of opinion, while so many of the Establishmentarian coconspirators are minorities themselves! Doesnt it behoove them rather to recognize for others, the same First Amendment rights which they themselves enjoy when they put on their own little parades?

Uniforms, swastikas and such arent my bag, either, but I really cant see taking the time off of work in order to drive up to Toledo, just to harass those who do use themor to egg em on, for that matter. These anti-Nazis do seem to have too much time on their hands. What dunderheads; just think: within the same allotment of time, they could both stay away, and work at something productive, and thus kill two crows with one stone.

I can of course live without the dog-and-pony show presented by either side. At this juncture, however, I must conclude that the anti-Nazis are somewhat more obnoxious than the supposed Nazis. Ive seen many political manifestations in my day, of the political left, right, and center, mostly in Europe, but also in this country; I can attest to the fact that every political manifestation is, by definition, what used to be called a publicity stunt. Chief Navarre is right when he says that the wisest course of action for the anti-Nazis would be simply to stay away form the Nazis manifestation, and thus deprive the Nazis of their desired publicity. Since most of the anti-Nazis appear to be nothing but so many posturing buffoons, however, I fully expect that they will turn out, gratuitously and vainly hoot at the Nazis, and thus paradoxically give the Nazis what they really want. Not only that, but the usual screeching, raving and chortling of the anti-Nazis will make the Nazis look rational and dignified, by comparison.

[In retrospect, this letter turned out to be prophetic, if I do say so myself. As it turned out, rampaging Negroes did significant damage to their own part of town. If it had been Bill White's strategem to elicit an irrational response from the "anti-Nazis," well, then, he hit the ball out of the park. Had the Negroes, Jews, leftists, and kumbaya-churchianity-types simply stayed away, they would have obtained a better result. Such is the brutal and honest truth, which The Blade didn't see fit to print.]
