Anger Against Apathy

There is a glowing ember left in my heart trying to get out,
but my arteries are clogged with apathy.
It wants to burn a ragging fire,
but have I acclimated to this cold?

I believe I need fellowship to fan this flame,
but dare I make my life more than another marble slab
among the yards of death and remembrance.
I want to go out in a blaze that burns all apathy,
and rages war against the cold gates that enter into brimstone.
May anger against apathy set free the fire inside me,
to burn away the me and show the You.
