AGRIMONY - Connected to the planet Jupiter and the element of air, Agrimony is has a unique ability to assist the user in releasing fear. It is also used for protection.

ALFALFA - "Father of Herbs," leaves have 8 essential amino acids & 4 times more vitamin C than in orange juice; vitamin K (great for morning sickness); beta carotene; vitamin E; LOTS of calcium; is the basis of liquid chlorophyll; as close to hemoglobin as anything possible; blood cleanser; vitamin B-12 (calms nerves); diuretic; natural fluoride source; used in treatment of cancer, breath and body odor, liver ailments; source of liquid chlorophyll - (chlorophyll is also good to flush out radiation from X-rays and chemotherapy, as well as bad stuff from antibiotics)

ALLSPICE - Whole Allspice �berries� hold a wonderful sent of cloves. They look & feel like wood berries or beads. A very vitalizing spice, they are perfect for health amulets. Put out a dish of Allspice in a sick person�s room to uplift. Promotes determination and energy.

ALTHEA - Connected to the element of water, Althea is used for protection and to enhance psychic powers. It is known to be a spirit-pulling herb--place it on the altar to bring good spirits to help with your ritual.

AMERICAN MANDRAKE - This American Mandrake, or May apple is often used as an equal substitute for the extremely rare European mandrake root. Both are used for protection, and to enhance love, abundance, and health.

ANGELICA - This masculine herb, also known as Masterwort, is connected to the Sun and the element of fire. Known to be a protective plant, it is sometimes used in protection and exorcism incenses. It is also used for luck and to promote healing.

ANISE - Protection, Purification. A good, general cleansing bath is made with a handful of Anise seeds and a few Bay leaves. A pillow of Anise keeps away nightmares.

APPLE - Apples are the symbol of immortality and sexuality, associated with the planet Venus. Perfect for "couple" magic especially on Friday the 13th... In the language of flowers the Apple stands for Temptation, Love & Fertility. Held in high esteem by witches, as Apples possess a Natural Pentacle at its center. In Celtic lore Avalon was an isle of enchantment. Avalon means the "Apple-Place".

ASH BARK - A very druid sacred tree, the Ash is part of the sacred trio "by oak, by ash and by thorn" of ancient British legend. This powerful tree is used for protection, and to attract prosperity, and love.

BALM OF GILEAD - Connected to the planet Venus and the element of water, Balm of Gilead, also known as Balsam Poplar, is used to promote healing and protection.

BALSAM FIR NEEDLES - Balsam fir OR The Silver Fir is associated with the moon and with the planet of Jupiter. This tree belongs to the triple aspect Goddess in Celtic lore, offering learning, choice and progress. The tree is sacred to many Goddesses. Silver Fir is used for magic involving power, insight, progression, protection, change, feminine rebirth, and birth. The wood chips or needles are sometimes used as incense and carry a sweet forest scent, these can be burned right on charcoals or mixed with other herbs as an incense mix. Balsam/Silver Fir is the quintessential Yule tree. Its branches can be used as decorations at Yule time either as wreaths or as garland, where it will provide protection for the household and its occupants.

Write a wish on a "bay leaf" with "dragons blood ink" for a powerful out come.

BEARBERRY LEAVES - Magical uses: Use in amulets for animal magic, animal shape shifting. Burn like sage leaves to honor Celtic Gods & Goddess. Burn with meditation incense to heighten one's psychic powers. Sprinkle powder leaves on shoes to take you to your true love. Wonderful little leaves for spell crafting in candles, around candles on altar. These small, sturdy, elongated leaves are up to approximately 1" long.

BIRCH - This "Lady of the Woods" was considered by the Druids to be a sacred tree. She is closely connected to Venus and the element of water. Its been known to be used for protection against lightning and warding off the evil eye when you hang a red ribbon of the stem of the birch.

Chewed by warriors for fierceness in battle. Large dried leaves are powerful markers in magical books. Give to your "familiar" (cat) to create a psychic bond with the animal. Use in spells for "courage"

CEDAR - Also known as the Tree of Life, this Druid sacred tree is used for purification, abundance, and protection.

CELANDINE - Connected to the Sun and the element of fire, Celandine is used for protection, legal difficulties, and depression.

CHAMOMILE - Meditation, relaxation Prosperity. Use in prosperity charms to draw money. Burn as a relaxation incense for meditation. Make a tea with one tablespoon of Chamomile to 8 oz of water, and drink to relax or induce sleep. Sprinkle about room to calm the energy. Add to a pouch & hide in mattress to calm fighting couples. May cause allergic reactions in people allergic to mums or ragweed!! Helps one to relax and have quality sleep; good for digestive problems; Cherokee used it for colic and bowel complaints; helps menstrual cramps & upset stomach; induces sleep. The flower heads are used to make a mild tea for restlessness and insomnia. Diluted to one part tea to 2 parts water, it can be given to infants for colic.

CHARCOAL - filters the system; good for gas or anything upsetting in the stomach

CHICKWEED - heals stomach ulcers, bowels, lungs, and almost any internal or external inflammation; removes plaque from blood vessels; strengthens stomach tissue; breaks down cellulite; good for weight loss

CINNAMON - Prosperity, Passion, Healing. Use in spells for prosperity. Will stimulate and excite the passions of the male. Mix with Myrrh for a good general-purpose incense. Tie 3 Cinnamon sticks together with a white ribbon and hang on front door of business to bring customers.

CINQUEFOIL - Connected to the planet Jupiter and the element of fire; Cinquefoil is used to promote abundance, protection, and restful sleep.

COMFREY SALVE - Connected to the planet Saturn and the element of water; Comfrey is most often used to insure safe travel and to attract prosperity. Comfrey can be used in other ways, but the safest to use over time is as a salve for external use only. There are some good comfrey and comfrey/goldenseal salves that can be purchased at health food stores. Comfrey speeds healing through rapid skin growth, so it should not be used on puncture wounds only minor skin abrasions. Also do not use salves or any non-water soluble preparation on body piercings.

CORNSILK - good for kidney, prostate and bladder problems; assists in breaking down uric and phosphoric acid build-up; excellent for aged and young with bed-wetting problems; diuretic; makes one urinate a LOT; cleans kidneys

DAMIANA - best known as a sexual rejuvenator; increases sperm count; Mayans used it for lung ailments, dizziness and as a general body cleanser; helps with hot flashes; strengthens the female system; great for infertility and impotence; used as a child's laxative; relieves colds and flu; good tonic for central nervous system

DANDELION - use to detoxify the system; has potassium so it is a natural diuretic without depleting body's potassium; increases bile flow and alleviates first stages or cirrhoses; gentle laxative; invigorating and purifying

DEVIL'S SHOESTRING - Known as an herb with "staying power." The legendary Devil's Shoestring is used for protection, power, money and luck. To attain & keep employment, gain control at your work environment. Good luck for job search. Power in the work place, Employment.

DONG QUAI - used since 588 BC for female problems; strengthens circulation; antibiotic for several "bugs;" encourages proper balance of female hormones; cleanses and purifies the blood; relieves tinnitis, blurred vision, and palpitations; enhances use of vitamin E; calms nerves; use as a post-partum tonic to build blood and regulate menses; bowel lubricant

DRAGON�S BLOOD (resin) - Connected to the planet Mars and the element of fire, dragon's blood is used to promote love, protection and power. You will know if you have the real thing, if it burns pinkish/red smoke. Used in the Druidic ritual "The Pelan Tan" during "Samhain". Put a pinch in with your magical tools, to keep unwanted eyes away. Use in "binding" spells to resemble human blood.

ECHINACEA - There are two types of Echinacea available, augustifolia and purpurea. Augustifolia is recommended if you can get it. Echinacea is the herb of choice for inflammatory conditions. It can be taken internally or externally as a wash. Because it is so mild, it should be taken in small frequent doses. NOTE: Echinacea should not be taken for more than 6 weeks in a row. It can destroy intestinal flora (because it is anti-bacterial). Acidophilus should be taken in conjunction with Echinacea because of this.

ELDER - Strongly connected to the Great Goddess, this druid sacred tree is often a refuge for faeries and other woodland folk. It was highly regarded by the Celts for its powers to protect, manifest wishes and help induce sleep. Sacred to the "White Lady" and midsummer solstice. The Druids used it to both bless and curse, Burn at "Beltane" to comfort the Fae. These small tiny yellowish flowers carry a strong pungent smell.

ELECAMPANE - Connected to the planet Mercury and the element of air; Elecampane is used for love, protection, and for increasing psychic powers.

EYEBRIGHT - best for diseases of the eye and mucous membranes; good for light sensitivity, eyestrain, minor irritation, and weak eyesight; stimulates liver; cleans blood

FEVERFEW - reduces fever, as well as number and severity of headaches, and the nausea of migraines; good for pain relief, chills, colds, and arthritis; helps body heal & strengthen itself; alcohol destroys it's effects

FLAX - Connected to the planet Mars and the element of fire, Flax is used to promote prosperity, healing, psychic powers and is also used for protection.

FRANKINCENSE (tears, resin) - Grown in the Middle East. When a "Frankincense tree is cut" the sap makes 'tears", hence the name. Burn to raise vibrations, to purify your Magical working area. Burn during sunrise rituals of all kinds. Mix with Cumin for a powerful protective incense useful for all general workings. There is NOTHING that smells like it, soapy, sensual and the smoke is thick and white.

FUMITORY - Connected to the planet Saturn and the element of earth, Fumitory is most often used to for purification, protection and to attract money.

GALANGAL - This masculine herb, also known as Low John the Conqueror, is connected to the planet Mars and the element of fire. It is used to promote abundance, protection, good health, lust, and psychic powers.

GINGKO - The 24% concentrated extract has been proven the most effective. Gingko is used for increased blood flow to the brain and as such is useful for the treatment of memory problems, including Alzheimer's.

GUM ARABIC - Connected to the Sun and the element of air, Gum Arabic, also known as Acacia, is most often used for purification and spirituality.

HAWTHORNE - Closely connected to the planet Mars and the element of fire, brings the influence of happiness, fertility, and protection. Also known as the May tree, the Hawthorn tree is sacred to the Druids. The small berries are wrinkled and red and perfect for adding to your Beltane altar for May Day offerings. Add to amulets for power & strength of the ancient Druids.

HIGH JOHN THE CONQUEROR - See Galangal.

HOPS - Wonderful in healing sachets and incenses. A pillow of the dried white to gold "fruit" like buds, helps bring on sleep. String a bunch of the fresh buds and hang in bedroom of sick person, for improvement in health.

HORSE CHESTNUT - Also known as a buckeye, Horse Chestnut is connected to the planet Jupiter and the element of fire. Use this powerful nut to manifest success and prosperity and to alleviate pain.

HYSSOP - Hyssop is considered one of the most powerful purification herbs. Use it for purification and protection.

IRISH MOSS - This sacred herb, also known as Pearl Moss, was highly regarded by the Celts for its ability to increase luck and abundance. It was also believed to be a highly protective herb.

JASMINE - Connected to the Moon and the element of Water, Jasmine is used to promote love, prosperity, and psychic dreams. Good luck in love and wealth. Aphrodisiac. Alleviates depression, and tension. Raises self-esteem. Opens the heart chakra and stimulates clarity of thought. Enables one to lucid dream, when it is used before sleeping. Mix with Lavender for the ultimate Dream Pillow.

JOB'S TEARS - Also known a Tear Grass, these magical seeds are used to promote healing and luck.

JUNIPER BERRIES - Used with Thyme in Druid incense for visions. Juniper berries strewn at the door discourages thieves. The mature berries can be strung and hung in the house to attract love. Crush berries in a mortar to release their "pine filled" aroma, mix with cedar or pine needles for a wonderful "Winter Solstice incense" burn on charcoal tabs. A Druid sacred tree, Juniper is used to attract love, for protection, and to promote psychism.

KAVA KAVA - The root is used in the treatment of insomnia and sleeplessness. It is also useful when one is not able to get a full night's sleep and needs the most rest possible in a short time. NOTE: Kava Kava should not be taken over an extended time.

LAVENDER FLOWERS - Magickal uses include love, protection, healing, sleep, purification, and peace. Promotes healing from depression. Great in sleep pillows and bath spells. Believed to preserve chastity when mixed with rosemary. Burn the flowers to induce sleep and rest, then scatter the ashes around the home to bring peace and harmony. Use in love spells and sachets, especially those to attract men. Put 2 handfuls of "Lavender Flowers� into a square of cheesecloth and tie with a white ribbon use this aromatic "washcloth" in place of your usual one. Witches threw lavender into Midsummer fires as a sacrifice to the ancient Gods. Also used as an insect repellent.

LEMON GRASS - Properties: Mercury, Masculine, Element Air Lemongrass planted around the home and in the garden it will repel snakes. It is also used in lust potions, as well as in an amulet to aid in developing psychic powers & divination; add a handful of Lemon grass to your Tarot bag to keep cards attuned. Scatter the Lemongrass around table before Tarot or Rune reading.

LIFE-EVERLASTING FLOWERS - Life Everlasting, also known as White Balsam, is often used for healing purposes and for attaining longevity or youthfulness. It is also thought to protect against illness. Use in charm bags to keep young. Burn at Midsummer to honor the maiden. Bundle flowers with white ribbons and put under pillow to give sweet dreams.

LOTUS LEAF - This special plant, sacred to the Ancient Egyptians and the people of India, is also connected to the lost cities of Atlantis and Lemuria. Associated with the Moon and the element of water, it is used to promote insight, success, luck and protection.

LOVAGE - Known as the "loving herb," Lovage is connected to the Sun and the element of fire. It is well known in English folklore for its ability to draw love to those who use it.

LUCKY HAND - Connected to the planet Venus and the element of water, this rare herb is used to promote abundance, employment, protection, and luck.

MANDRAKE (American)(May apple) - Place in the home for a powerful protective charm. The roots are used in image magic, as the American version (May apple) and the European version, resemble the limbs of humans. Grind and sprinkle in cupboards & Book of shadows to keep away prying eyes.

MARIGOLD - Magical attributes include prophecy, legal matters, the psychic, seeing magical creatures, love, clairvoyance, dreams, business or legal affairs and renewing personal energy. Be sure to gather your Marigolds for magickal workings at noon. A fresh Marigold flower can be worn to court for a favorable outcome of a trial. If you place Marigold in your mattress, you will have prophetic dreams... and if you place it under your mattress it will make whatever you dream come true. Since the Marigold embodies the sun, it can make a person more attractive and confident. Add Marigold to your bath water to make this happen. A vase of fresh and bright Marigolds in a room brings a renewed surge of life to those in the room. The leaves can eaten as a salad and a yellow dye has also been extracted from the flower, by boiling.

MARSHMALLOW - use leaves as a poultice for toxins and poisons in open wounds - also shortens healing time; internally, soothes urinary tract and respiratory system; eases passage of kidney stones; use as diuretic with chamomile and cornsilk; use externally for varicose veins and dermatitis; internally, will bind with toxins and flush them out; excellent for arthritis; eases soreness from diarrhea & dysentery; use with cayenne pepper as a poultice for blood poisoning, gangrene, and to ease bruises

MEADOWSWEET - Considered to be one of the three most sacred Druid herbs; this herb is closely connected to the planet Jupiter and the element of air, bringing the influence of love, peace, and happiness.

MILO BERRIES (Pink) - These tiny berries are clustered on stems & about the diameter of a tomato seed. Bright HOT pink these berries are perfect for Faery magic, Friendships spells and Peace rituals.

MINT - Considered by the druids to be one of the three most sacred herbs, it was used primarily for healing, prosperity and purification.

MISTLETOE - Especially revered by the druids when found growing in an oak tree, this was considered to be an all-purpose protective herb. Mistletoe was also used to help retain love. Wear as a protective amulet. A good anti-lightning charm. Extinguishes fires. Hang Mistletoe and kiss the one you want, hence "Kissing under the Mistletoe.

MUGWORT - Clairvoyance, Scrying, Protection. Also known as Witch herb, Mugwort was considered a druid sacred herb. Used to increase psychic abilities and as an aid to divination.

MULLEIN (the "Candlewick Plant") - A truly magical herb, this plants texture is like wool or cashmere, extremely soft and fuzzy. The shapes of the leaves resemble a candle flame. They burn similar to cotton. They burn quite unusual, as the flame creeps up the main stem. Nicknames: Hag's tapers, Feltwort, Candlewick Plant. Carry to keep animals away from you in the woods. Wear to instill courage. The powdered leaves are know as "graveyard dust" and are acceptable to use when such is called for in old recipes". A must for a "witches garden." Quiets nerves; relieves pain; soothes any inflammation; excellent for lung diseases, coughs and consumption; it's a narcotic that won't induce euphoria; use mullein oil for ear infections; good to eliminate excess mucous; used to treat tuberculosis

MYRRH (resin) - Myrrh is used in magick for protection, peace, exorcism, healing, consecration, blessing, meditation and heightening spirituality. As an incense Myrrh can be used to help deepen mediation and to aid contemplation. Myrrh can be used in any ritual to the Goddess Isis, since Myrrh is a Goddess plant of the moon's sphere and is sacred to Isis. Myrrh can also be burned so that its smoke can purify and protect an area, and the smoke can also be used to consecrate and bless objects like rings, amulets, and ritual tools.

NUTMEG - The powerful nutmeg has long been used as a good luck charm, to promote prosperity and to maintain one's health.

OAK BARK - This druid holy tree, also known as Duir, was considered the most sacred of all trees. It is said that the Druids would not perform rituals without the presence of this powerful, protective, healing and bountiful tree.

OAK MOSS - A natural wonder, Oak Moss belongs to the element Earth, growing on barks of trees, with a gray suede like appearance. Use this sweet smelling �moss� in Prosperity spells, Gnome magic and spells to Mother Earth. Use in �Witch Bottles� for home & business.
