What's The-Website?
The website was originally created so I could share all the cool stuff I'd found over the 'net with everyone. Also I wanted some practice with HTML coding.
HTML? You mean practice with FrontPage!
Nope. Most of The-Website is done using Notepad & banging my head against the computer.
But no-one codes there own site anymore.
So I'm often told. Not least by a website designer & a computer whizz-kid. However, since I was a kid using BASIC I've loved to program computers so enjoy the challenge of writting the code myself rather than using FrontPage or one of the other editors on the market.
So this whole site is done by hand?
Urm... no. To start with I used some website designing software to get the site up & running since then I've been going back to each page & writting it myself. At the moment there is a mixture of pages done by software & pages written by me. Over time I'll be trying to change most of the pages so they are hand-written, however, not all the pages will get this treatment as there are some that were done on software that I am very happy with & do not plan to change.
What cool stuff is on The-Website?
Lots. It ranges from fun movies & comics to important computer security software that I've found on the web. There's also a news & sport section too.
Why is it called The-Website?
Not very original I know. When I first started making it I always refered to it in conversation as the website, as I couldn't think of a better name for it. Over time the name stuck, so when I got a domain name it had to be The-Website.

Yes! I know that some sites want you to get permission before you link
to them, but I never will. Feel free to link to any pages on The-Website. Please don't link to images though.
