December 17th 2002 :
Glay One Love in Beijing will be on sale tomorrow! According to the Pony
Canyon website, there are only 11 songs and that's including the opening
and the ending. DVD benefit is that it includes some 'special recordings'.
Next year will be a year to look forward to, since in February, Glay will
be releasing 2 albums: "Glay Rare Collectives Vol.1" and "Glay
Rare Collectives Vol.2", each priced at ¥2625. There are 2 CDs in
each album, which makes a total of 4 CDs... looks like we should be
getting our money's worth this time. 3 new tracks are included, 2 being
songs for the upcoming drama 'Keiji Ichiro' titled "Shiawaseni Naru
Sonotokini" and "Itsuka" which will be the theme song. The
other new track is titled "17 Ans"... should be French which
will mean '17 years old'. We'll see.
Glay has provided us with more greeting cards we can send to people, as
well as a new style on the Glay Life MasterCard.

November 11th 2002 :
Wow~ It's been a month since I've updated the news section. Gomennasai!
Glay will be officially releasing the live they had in Beijing on DVD and
VHS on December 18th. Price will be ¥5700 and it's titled "Glay One
Love in Beijing Live & Document". Could this mean that they'll be
adding backstage footage again?!
Glay's been on quite a few magazine covers lately. There's BPass, PatiPati,
Arena37 etc. Glad to see that they're back in the scene. We've missed
them!

October 17th 2002 :
HAPPY 30TH BIRTHDAY TO JIRO!
|
October 10th 2002 :
Video Glay 5 due in November! It's finally here after more than 2 years
(since Video Glay 4). What a long wait it's been. The cover is designed by
our lovely Teru and the skull was probably Hisashi's idea (my guess). If
you wanna check out the cover look and the track list (which is a shocking
12), it's up in the Discography Section under Videos. The DVD version
contains extra stuff like director's comments and stuff. Both DVD and VHS
are priced at ¥4700.
Glay will be participating in a live held in Shibuya AX called
"Sakuma Samit". My guess is that it's supposed to be 'summit',
but whatever. It's sponsored by NesCafe (yummy) and other people are going
to perform as well, such as Glay's producer Masahide Sakuma, Cune, The Pan
etc. Should be interesting... since it'll be a joint concert. Again,
international fans just have to sulk.
But for the fans up in Beijing, China... they'll be having the time of
their lives on October 13th. The long awaited live held out of Japan is
going to be in China. No offence, but why China?! Yes, yes... the
diplomatic relations thing. Those lucky people in Beijing. And for people
who sign up from Taiwan and Hong Kong, they get ARENA tickets, and other
goodies like a TShirt, a commemorative pass and a welcome card.
|
September 13th 2002 :
Today's Friday the 13th! I just realised that. Anyhow...
Glay went to Beijing and met up with the president of China Mr. Jiang
Zemin since Glay's concert in October is to celebrate the 30th anniversary
of China and Japan's diplomatic relations.

First press present for the upcoming album, 'Unity Roots & Family,
Away' is a set of pins/badges. Not the usual postcards or pictures...
maybe Glay wants to be less 'visual' in presents and prove that not
everything is based on looks?! Could be, but who can resist those good
looks? The CFs for the album has also been posted up on the HSSS as well
as my Main page, so go check it out.

Glay's gonna be on tons of TV programs this month to 'advertise' their new
album and also on a lot of magazines, which they haven't done in a while.
Can't wait to see their new image, although it looks like things haven't
changed since the release of their singles. But it's something to look
forward to.
WHY ARE PEOPLE SO GREEDY? I've been getting emails saying "Send me
all songs of Glay" or "Give me blah blah blah (listing out like
a million songs)". Have those people NO SHAME? And the worst part is
they don't say the magic words like "Please" or "Thank
You". If people are greedy with manners, that's fine (I happily reply
to those who are well mannered.)... but greedy and impolite?! To the
shitter they go!
On a lighter note, I still haven't gotten the One Love tour DVD yet, so I
can't tell you guys if it's good or not. However, all Glay lives are good!
HSSS has a new look, but I'm sure you guys have all seen it. There's still
not much news so this about wraps up this update. How boring.

August 28th 2002 :
Glay has finally released the song list and album cover for their new
album 'Unity Roots & Family, Away'. It's a step away from that retro
look from the One Love album and back into Mother Nature... very sleek.
For the full song list and the cover jacket, check it out in my
Discography section under Albums. Please note that the romanji for the
song titles are subject to errors and I'll change it as I'm aware of the
correct one.
Old news again, but Glay will be releasing a new book end of September.
Published by Kadokawa Publishing, the price is still unknown. It's sort of
a continuation (if I may call it that) from their book "Yume no
Chihei" since this one is titled "Yume no Kizuna" (subject
to error again). This book follows Glay from New York in April 2001 till
the recording of their new album Unity Roots & Family, Away.

August 5th 2002 :
Glay are going to be releasing another long awaited new album on September
19th titled "Unity Roots & Family, Away". Strange title for
a Glay album... sounds so serious, but Glay are coming up with strange
titles lately (eg: Brothel Creepers?!). This album is priced at the usual
¥3059. Still no cover jacket for us to see though... soon, soon.
But the cover jacket for the "One Love Dome Tour" has been
released. (You can see it on the official site). It's gonna be on sale the
end of this month, so get ready to use up some of that 'well earned/hard
saved' money. It'll all be worth it in the end. It always is.
Takuro has teamed up with Toki (I have no idea who he is, so forgive me
for my ignorance!). Takuro composed the songs and I guess Toki is singing
them (under the name "Stealth" I think). This single goes on
sale on September 29th. You can check out the official site in my links
section.
Teru's Boys Only live is coming closer as is the Glorious Night Cruise.
Tour goods for the cruise have been revealed and they look pretty
attractive! Go look for
yourself! It's the usual tourbook, badges, tshirts and stuff. As for
Teru's live, he's opened up a little site of his own, so go check it out here.
That about wraps this up. I've changed the featured songs on the FTP and
got new PVs up. The FTP has been screwed up but it should be up and
running now. If it's still screwed, post in the BBS and don't email me
about it, cos I don't have time to answer you guys one by one.

July 16th 2002 :
Glay will be performing in China on October 13th 2002. The event is
sponsered by JAL and is called 'One Love in Beijing' respectively. It's a
diplomatic event to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the
Japanese-Chinese relations. The press conference was held in Beijing on
July 4th.
click for larger image.

Glay will be releasing the DVD and VHS for the last show in Tokyo Dome of
the One Love Dome Tour. Both the DVD and VHS will be up for grabs on
August 28th for ¥5,500. I can't wait to get my hands on that since it's
an entire different feeling to know I watched it live.
An online shop has been opened on the official Glay site. I've checked it
out and it seems like they only ship to Japan residents. What's selling?
Album band scores and books... but I'm sure they'll put more stuff on
later. Oh well, it's just for looking anyway to us international fans.
|
June 30th 2002 :
One more month till Glay's 2 new singles are released. More information
has been released regarding the 2 singles, including an audio preview of
"Matakokode Aimashou" and also the cover jackets for both the
singles. You can sample the song on my main page or on the official Glay
site.

Teru will be producing another 'Boys Only Night' live in Osaka on August
27th. The boys only night live last time was held in Fukuoka in 2000. Once
again, he's left the screaming girl fans behind to only entertain the
guys. Tickets for this event start selling on August 4th for ¥4,500 thru
phone and the e+
site.

|
June 12th 2002 :
Glay will be releasing 2 singles in July. First one will be on sale on
July 24th titled "Matakokode Aimashou" and the C/W song for this
single is composed and written by Hisashi titled "Giant Strong Faust
Super Star". Number 2 single will be launched one week after on July
31st titled "Aitai Kimochi" and is the theme for the new TV
drama called 'Satorare'. This single's C/W song is co-written by Hisashi
with Takuro and it's composed by Takuro (naturally). It's title is
"Brothel Creepers".
Nothing else about the singles have been released; as in it's price, which
will be around the same as the previous singles, and the cover jacket is
still a mystery. What's also a mystery (to me anyway) is the song names...
very strange aren't they?! 'Brothel Creepers'?! Gosh, I hope it's not
referring to themselves!
On a lighter note, Teru left a message on HSSS saying that Glay have
finished shooting the new single's PV and also cover jacket up in
Shanghai, China. It should be Glay's first time up there... and I think
they liked it quite a lot. Teru's changed his look a bit. Lots of
controversy and arguements have popped up in mailing lists about it. Long,
blonde, permed hair is definitely not Teru's style (in my opinion... so
don't be mean to me!)

June 8th 2002 :
HAPPY 31ST BIRTHDAY TO TERU!
|
May 26th 2002 :
HAPPY 31ST BIRTHDAY TO TAKURO!
|
May 23rd 2002 :
The Glay news drought has really hit it's peak. Ever since Teru's marriage
announcement, things haven't picked up too much.
This is quite a bit of old news, but here it goes. Glay have a monument
set up in Hokkaido's Ishikari Aoba Park. It's to commemorate the greatest
mobilized tour in the history of Hokkaido... the Glay 2001 Expo.

Speaking of monuments... Glay will be performing in the "China
Millennium Monument" event that will be held in Beijing on August 3rd
2002. HSFC members get a chance to go see them at a high price of 180,000
Yen which includes airfare and the event tickets. Only 5,000 lucky people
get to go and it's at a first come first served basis. This is just the
first step in bring Japan and China together! Hopefully, Glay can bring
Japan together with other countries too, so that the international fans
get to see them too!
There's still no news about the Asia Tour. There's also no new Glay
pictures. Basically, like I said, there's a major Glay drought. I hope
things pick up soon... don't we all?! Meanwhile, I'm waiting patiently for
my Hisashi designed BearBrick to arrive.

April 29th 2002 :
Teru got married to Ami (of Puffy) on April 28th 2002. First, let me
congratulate the couple and wish them the best of luck and a lifetime
together full of happiness. Teru announced his marriage in his message on
Happy Swing today. This is what the message says (subject to errors since
I'm bad at this translating stuff.)
Everyone, how are you? [April 29th]
Have to borrow this place to announce to all the supporters of Glay
that... on April 28th 2002, I've gotten married to Ami Onuki. Due to our
love of music in this world, we hope to continue walking down the road of
music together.
Right now, Glay are recording a new album, and hope you understand why we
are reporting it in this way. In order to allow the songs to be brought to
everyone, we ask for everyone's perserverance.
Regards from TERU
Thanks to `kane
for correcting my last sentence! ^_^
Well, it seems like Takuro is the only bachelor left in Glay. We will have
to keep a close eye on him now. But it is such great news that Teru got
married. We should all be happy for him!
Other than the marriage announcement, I'm glad to hear that Glay are
starting to record a new album. But it will probably be awhile till it
come out. Until then we will have to wait. As for the Asia tour, there is
still no official news, but hopefully they will make an announcement soon.
|
April 15th 2002 :
This time it's Takuro's and Hisashi's time to shine. First let me announce
Takuro's news.
As we all know, Takuro's participated in an album with Vanessa Mae titled
Flow of Soul Vol.1 ~Takuro meets Vanessa Mae~. They've opened up an
official website Flow
of Soul where there are previews of the songs and the full track list.
Favorites include However, Zutto Futari De, Kanojo no Modern, Pure Soul...
and many more. There are 12 tracks in total.

Other than Takuro collaborating with other artists, Hisashi's been getting
down to business too! Hisashi's featured in Utada Hikaru's upcoming single
"Sakura Drops" in the song "Letters". Unfortunately,
it's not a vocal feature, but a guitar feature... naturally. It'd be cool
if Hisashi was featured vocally though... right? I'm looking forward to
this single to hear Hisashi's guitar playing, but I like Hikki too, so
it's good both ways. Here's a link to Hikki's
Official Site.
The Asia tour seems to have gone quiet again. And Glay's made other plans
this summer in Japan. A series of special lives which are only available
to Happy Swing Fan Club, Happy Swing Members Site and Glay Phone owners.
There will be a total of 10 shows starting from August 11th till September
1st 2002. That means, either the Asia tour has been cancelled (oh no!), or
just pushed back. Rumors still have it that it'll be pushed back till
September. I hope so... If I hear anything concrete (which I doubt will be
soon), I'll make a special announcement here.

March 25th 2002 :
It seems like there has been a Glay news "drought" for awhile
now. However, there's still some news here and there. This time is all
about Teru.
First off, Teru's regular radio program, Teru Me Night Glay, will be going
off air with it's last show on March 27th. Teru Me Night has been on the
air since April 5th 1995! Maybe ending the radio program will allow Teru
to fully concentrate on making music and also on Glay's radio program,
Glay Radio Communication.
Next up is our popular Teru again! This time, he's featured as a drink
specially served up in Hard Rock Cafe named the "Teru's Oolong
Highball". An oolong tea flavored alcoholic drink... sounds pretty
cool. Teru's the first artist to have his "own" drink in Hard
Rock. Maybe next up will be the other members of Glay!?
(A highball's random info: the most original highball is made with
whiskey, ginger ale and ice.)

March 4th 2002 :
Way of Difference was finally released after the long wait! Glay have not
failed to amaze us this time by producing 2 songs of excellent quaility.
The coupling track "Sotsugyou Made Ato Sukoshi" is a great song
on it's own and paired up with Ainori's theme song Way of Difference, it
hit #1 on the Oricon charts the day of it's release!
An all new CM for Way of Difference has been completed and will air on TV
starting from March 9th in Hokkaido, Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka and Fukuoka. The
international fans are left out again... but hopefully we'll get lucky!
Glay HSSS has been completely renovated and now the site has never looked
this good. With the color theme of green (to match Way of Difference), and
total Flash effects; it's easier to navigate and the best part is that
there's a fully updated English section. I guess Glay are paying more
attention to the international fans.

Glay is participating in what will be a series of CDs that features tracks
performed by famous musicians like YoYo Ma, Vanessa Mae, Ryuichi Sakamoto,
etc. The first CD in the series features Takuro and Vanessa Mae, titled
"Flow of Soul Vol. 1 ~Takuro meets Vanessa Mae~" due to be
released on April 24th 2002, priced at 2,625Yen.
Glay have teamed up with FM802 and Hard Rock Cafe in Universal Studios
Osaka and are delivering a special drink called Way of Difference. This
non-alcoholic drink is priced at a hefty 1,400Yen. The reason for this
high price is because you get to go home with the glass the drink comes in
which has a Glay and FM802 logo. A special present will be given away on a
first come first serve basis and the Way of Difference PV will also be
shown in Hard Rock, while you sip your drink. Sounds like a fun filled
"Glay Day"!
As for the boiling rumors of Glay's Asia Tour this summer, it seems as
though it is confirmed already, but Glay just haven't announced it yet.
Cities picked out for the Asia Tour is as follows: Bangkok, Hong Kong,
Taipei, Seoul and Beijing. The live in Beijing is supposed to be a
diplomatic event which is to strengthen political ties between Japan and
China. As soon as any official announcement is made, I'll udate in here
right away. This Asia Tour just goes to prove that Glay's theme of
"Global Communication" and "One Love" is definitely
working.

|
February 15th 2002 :
Ever since the One Love Dome Tour ended, Glay have been keeping to
themselves and are being extremely quiet. Glay have stopped gracing the
magazine covers, and only news of their upcoming single is being repeated
over and over again on HSSS. Is something wrong?!
Glay did have a few follow up shows in the North Eastern district of
Japan, the "Glay Tour 2002 Special Extra Package One Love",
consisting of 5 shows, which is now over.
Rumors are flying around that Glay will be holding an "Asia
Tour" this summer, performing in Hong Kong and China. How true this
is, I am not quite sure. Also rumored, is that Glay will be releasing a
singles collection during the summer, which will contain the B-side tracks
from their singles. But everything is still to be official announced and
confirmed.
I haven't been updating as regularly as I wish, but due to the lack of
Glay news, there really isn't much for me to update on. Hopefully things
will pick up after Way of Difference is released in 2 weeks time.
|
February 2nd 2002 :
HAPPY 30TH BIRTHDAY TO HISASHI!
|
January 30th 2002 :
Not much news coming from Glay lately. But supposedly, some important
announcement will be made at the beginning of February. We'll just have to
wait and see what it is.
For the residents of Japan, there will be a Glay Special on cable, in
which Glay will be repeatedly broadcasted 24 hours a day. Those lucky
people!
HSSS has launched Glay Greeting Cards on their website in which you can
send your friends (or yourself?) a message next to 3 different choices of
Glay pictures. The card also announces Glay's upcoming single release Way
of Difference. To send a card, click this link: Glay
Greeting Cards
|
January 16th 2002 :
But for some happy news now. Starting tomorrow, the Way of Difference PV
will air on Fuji TV. Still more than a month to go before Glay's release
of their upcoming single Way of Difference, which will be selling for
1,260 Yen, and we're all waiting anxiously. Fortunately, Glay know the
fans well and have released the title of the CW song which is "Sotsugyou
Made Ato Sukoshi" and also the single jacket for us already. Nothing
fancy, just a beautiful flower... jasmine, I think. Is it to welcome
spring?

The One Love Dome Tour has ended, with the last show at Tokyo Dome. It was
another great tour, mostly featuring songs from the new album One Love, as
well as other favorites like Winter Again and of course, Shutter Speeds no
Teema. I said before that I'd be giving a detailed report of the first
show at Osaka Dome, but I still haven't. So I'll write it here now.
All songs from the One Love album were performed, with All Standard is You
as the opening song. The other songs performed were (in no particular
order): Way of Difference, Winter Again, Shutter Speeds no Teema, Biri
Biri Crashmen, Yuuwaku, Kuchibiru, Young Oh Oh and Survival.
Teru forgot his lines during Fighting Spirit, but picked up again really
fast. For Christmas Ring, torches were lighted and the atmosphere was
spooky as well as romantic. During Jiro's Highway No.5, Glay played this
really cute video where the members were doing all these strange things...
and for Hisashi's Denki Iruka song, a video of clowns was played, with the
clowns sing along to "I'm singing in the rain, it's my way..."
Hisashi's guitar solo was spectacular! The frets of his LFO talbo lighted
up and at the end of his solo, fireworks shot from his beloved talbo.
Amazing! Jiro's solo was on a more light-hearted side, with a video of
Jiro's very own band; "The Thunder Zombies". Members consisted
of Jiro dressing up as Slash (Guns n Roses), Jimmy Hendrix (dreadlocks and
all!) and a rapper whom should be DMX.
End roll was One Love~All Standard is You~Reprise. The usual fireworks
were displayed as well as a credit video of Glay in the recording studio.
That about wraps up this update. Here are a few pictures taken from HSSS
of the One Love Tour 2001-2002.

January 6th 2002 :
I know it's a bit late... but Happy New Year! Hope that the start of a new
year will be good for all of us.
Not much news coming from Glay at the start of this year though. First
off, Hisashi's radio program, CyberNet City, has gone off the air, with
his last show on December 27th. I think Hisashi's a bit saddened by that.
Here are 2 pictures taken from CNC of Hisashi.

Takuro's been participating in a lot of books lately, with his latest
contribution being "Hi Sen" or NO WAR. To visit the books
official website, click this link: Sustainablility
For Peace.
Glay's song from the One Love album, Kimiga Mitsume Taumi, will be
featured as the song for the CM for a blood donating campaign. And
speaking of new songs, Glay will release a new single, "Way of
Difference" on February 27th 2002. This song is the song for the
Japanese TV Show Ainori and was sung at the One Love Dome Tour. The
japanese lyrics for Way of Difference have already been released at the
official Ainori website. To see it, click this link: Ainori
Website.
Glay Expo 2001 in Hokkaido is already on sale. It should be good, since I
emptied my bank account for it! *LOL* But another good thing is that I've
recieved my Happy Swing Fan Club newsletter book, and Hisashi is featured
on the cover. The newsletter also contains a New Year greeting card and a
CD-Extra, which is really funny!
