Suppliers For Various Glass Art Projects

Lampwork

(One word of warning, each of these companies has a beginner kit, and they are all DIFFERENT!)

Frantz Bead Company E. 1222 Sunset Hill Rd. Shelton, Wa. 98584 ph: (360)-426-6712 fax: (360)-427-5866 Email [email protected] http://www.olywa.net/frantzbead/
Frantz has a knowledgeable staff and gives discounts for bulk orders. You are able to customize the beginner kits. One word of warning, the beginner kits do not automatically come with glass. You will need to either order glass separately or order one of the glass assortments. That's actually pretty good, because you do get the beginner kit discount of the assortments. Also, they will extend the discount to additional tools not included in the beginner kit if you order them at the same time.

Arrow Springs 4570 Tennessee Dr., Shingle Springs, CA. 95682; (916) 677-9482. e-mail [email protected] http://www.arrowsprings.com I have not actually used Arrow Springs myself, although Kathryn Rous has and loves their copper sheathed mandrels. Has beginner kits.

Sundance Art Glass Center 231 South Whisman Road, Mountain View CA 94041. Phone: (415) 964-7248. 415-965-2266 888-4HOTGLASS http://www.artglass1.com/
Sundance has some pretty good sales at times! The last thing I ordered from them was fiber blankets and mandrels. Very quick and courteous service. Also has beginner kits.

Stained Glass   (contributed by Alianor)

Warner-Crivellaro http:/www.warner-criv.com/   I've used them numerous times and they are wonderful to deal with.  Great prices.  Wonderful catalog.  Good shipping and they have a few starter stained glass kits, ranging from in the $40's to over $300.  (depends on if you get the grinder and other "fun" tools or just a basic kit)

Delphi Stained Glass  http:/www.delphiglass.com/    I've never used them, but have heard good reports from those who have.

Stained Glass Warehouse http:/www.stainedglasswarehouse.com/    This company is in the western part of NC, near Ashville.  Wonderful staff.  I've only ordered paints from them, which they no longer carry (of course), but would certainly shop with them again for other things.  They do not currently have a retail store front, but should sometime soon.

Stained Glass Source, Inc http://www.stainedglasssource.com/  Another one I've never used.

These are specific glass-only suppliers.  They are a good way to learn about the glass you are using.

Spectrum Glass http://www.spectrumglass.com/  Glass to die for.  Almost every piece I have done has had at least a portion of this glass in it.  The Atlantian Arms, I did, was totally made of Spectrum Glass.

Wissmach Glass http://www.wissmachglass.com/

Kokomo Opalescent Glass http://www.kog.com/  They advertise themselves as "the oldest manufacturer of opalescent and cathedral stained glass in the world."  I have neither been able to confirm or dispute this claim.  Either way some absolutely beautiful glass.  It is what I used as a background for Anton's window.

Youghiogheny Glass  http://www.stainedglassbiz.com/youghiogheny/  Another beautiful glass.  Specially for background work.

Bullseye Glass Company http://www.bullseye-glass.com/   I know those who love this glass, and they have glass for kiln working and torch work.

Uroboros Glass http://www.uroboros.com/  Even more beautiful glass.  They also carry a good line for fusing.

Please feel free to send me the information on other suppliers you have used. Send comments to [email protected]
