Qang Jian Kui was born and raised in the Jiao Ling Province of Orien. Like most childern raised there, he was school in martial arts, acrobatics and acedemics from an early age. He was destined to take his place as an Emperial Guard one day, just as his father and his father's father had done before him. However; a great change came along, sweeping aside tradition like a Tsunami. Domini conqured Orien.
Jian found himself with no career awaiting him. No sense of place in society. This change in his life thrilled him. He knew his sense of duty and honor should have been outraged, should have demanded justice, but instead, he felt a sense of relief. Jian began to travel, exploring first across his own country. He studied things that had always interested him, though his edjucation had been limited in certain areas. He had long been skilled as a tailor, but now he saught to learn if magic could be used while making clothes and suits. He approached this the same way the Orien approach everything....as a persuit of perfection.
Now, Jian finds himself venturing to Domini, the Empire that conqured his homeland. He seeks out this new experienc from nothing more then curiousity. Perhaps they will know more of the weaving of magic clothing. Perhaps they will have materials with different properties that can be made into clothing.

"Super Powers"
Flying Technique: (40%) This power is a matter of balance and muscle control. It goes far beyound normal human ability however. Masters of the Flying Technique can leap across a field, perch on a single leaf, or even run across water. For every 10% in Flying Technique, your jump distance is increased by 1 foot. Further more, the percentage indicates how much of your weight no longer needs to be actually supported by something more physical then air. NOTE: It is impossible to stand on air however. There must be something, even a leaf or twig. However, masters can spring back up, against even a tiny bird, and always land on their feet.
Zen Archery: (20%) Zen is the matter of visualizing your goal before you even start. Masters of Zen Archery never miss. Also, even if they can not strike against their primary target, their arrow will find purchase against anouther target. Percentages in Zen archery lower your difficulty to hit. Storytellers must decide how much the difficulty is lowered by. Storytellers may allow a Master Zen Archer to never even roll to hit, or may just lower the difficulty substantially.
Healing Factor: (20%) The body's healing is directly connected to the flow of energy through the body. When the body's energy is blocked or constricted, then the person will find themselves sick and possibly bed ridden. The higher your percentage in Healing Factor, not only the less likely you are to get sick, but the faster you will heal from physical damage. Healing factor will also give you the chance to heal and recover from damage that could have left perminate effects. Your Chi energy can save you from spending your life crippled or maimed.
Deflection: When you see an attack coming, you can focus your Chi to deflect the blow away from you. This technique does not work as well for physical blows or from weapons held in the enemies hands. The reason is, their Chi is closer to the attack and harder to deflect. Deflection works best against projectile attacks. Your percentage in Deflection adds to your dodge or evade roll. Note: Deflection is something that is not always active. You have the chance to deflect multiple arrows for example, as long as you see them coming. However; one arrow coming at you from behind can kill you.
Sixth Sense: (20%) Your aura and Chi are so well in balance that you get the warning of danger, even when you can't see or hear it ahead of time. The Sixth Sense crosses the line between what is seen and what is unseen. Higher ratings in Sixth Sense lower the chance of any attack against you being surprise. Combined with high enough speed and you have the chance to avoid a quick blow to your back.
Special techniques:
Balance: Spend 5 Chi every round to maintain your balance even in otherwise impossible situations. The use of this technique may not go beyound your flying technique rating.
Golden Palm Strike: Spend 10 Chi and land a open palm strike on opponents chest. Opponent will be knocked back 10 feet. They will also be knocked down unless they have Flying Technique, balance or other magic abilities. They may also suffer from difficulties breathing from the force of the blow...this will depend on the storyteller and the amount of armor your opponent is wearing at the time.
Imbue Power: This technique is used while crafting garments. Spend 10 Magic for every piece to be imbued. The powers imbued varies, according to materials used, time spent on the crafting and other factors. Even the local weather can have an effect on the overall result.
Possesions:
Gold: 200
Sword
Bow and quiver with 60 arrows
Tailors kit, including needles, silk thread, measuring tape thimble, wax and buttons.
Bolts of various cloth
Horse named Jiao Ti. A very spirited horse he won in a game of chance.
Jian's Clothes: Jian's outfit that he wears is imbued. Even though the blue outfit would seem to stand out, in the wilderness, Jian is 40% more likely to avoid detection. Needless to say, this functions better when Jian is activly hiding, but it can function to a lesser degree even when Jian is walking along.
Note on Character advancement: For every level, the character gains 5% to spend on increasing "Super Powers" They may spend that 5% on one attribute or split it among several. Additional special techniques can only be aquired through roleplay, via a trainer of some sort. It is possible to learn new techniques via manuals, but this method is more difficult and will double the learning time. For every 5 levels, the character gains 1 point to increase an attribute. New skills may also be increased only through roleplay. Health can be replaced via healing, or rest and controlled diet. Magic Power rengerates at a rate of 5 points every hour. Chi is replaced via meditation. For every 30 minutes spent in meditation, Jian gets back 1 point of Chi.
