Prologue: How it all began
There were two species that ruled over the world
Shyto. One species was the angelic Shitas, who lived on floating islands above
the realm beneath. The second species was the outlawed Evilions. These two
species possessed insurmountable magic abilities. Each Shita or Evilion
possessed a different power, whether it was telepathic, fire, wind, telekinesis
or many other varieties. It was very rare for either to have two magical
elements, but not uncommon. What was almost nonexistent was the power dark and
light. Of course many Shitas and Evilions had possessed this magic, but not to
the extent that the legend spoke of.
The Shitas resided on the floating islands and had lived
there for millions of years. They had the similar appearance of humans only
with a paler complexion and their wings which resembled birds’. Their hair and
eye color depended on the strength of their magic, the stronger they were the
brighter it became. All the Shitas had magic, even the poorest person in the city.
The capital city of all the floating islands was Rayan, where
the emperor and his family lived. Each of the floating islands contained their
own royal family, but the leader of them all was the emperor. The royal
families contained the strongest magic of all the Shitas, which made them very
powerful and persuasive.
Now, the other species of Shyto, the Evilions, were known as
ruthless murders. This had become true over the centuries of their banishment
of the floating islands to the land below. Their magic rivaled with the Shitas
and the strength did not depend on them being royalty or not. In the
underground world where the Evilions had created cities, there was no leader.
It was an anarchy, but it was not as chaotic as one
would expect it to be. The Evilions did not really have a problem with each
other for the most part. Of course there were the rich ones who would hire
mercenaries to kill others who got in their way, but for the most part it was a
neutral law never to kill one of your own. In order to keep this law continual,
a couple times a year the Evilions would go on raids to the floating islands
and destroy Shita villages.
The appearance of an Evilion was similar to a Shita, except
their skin color was vastly paler than their brethren. Since certain areas of
the underground did not get much sunlight, their vision adapted until they
could almost completely see in the dark. Their eyes would also glow. The
Evilions’ hair and eye color also depended on the strength of their magic, but
unlike the Shitas their hair color would become darker and darker. Only the
strongest Evilions had the eye color of blue, of course this was extremely rare
and had almost never happened except on a few occasions. Their wings were not
bird like either. They had the appearance of a dragon’s wings.
The bitter hatred between the two had not always existed.
Once both the Evilions and the Shitas had lived together on the floating
islands, leaving the land below untouched. They lived together in peace for
thousands of years before it turned into a war.
Around seven centuries ago, when both the Shitas and the
Evilions lived on the floating islands, a group of outcasts decided to
overthrow the emperor. Most people loved and respected their leaders, which had
even then been the Shitas. The small group of rebels was Evilions who had a
strong dislike for the Shitas. They thought that Shitas thought themselves
above the Evilions, so in order to prove them wrong they planned to kill and
destroy the royal family. Along their planning they brainwashed other Evilions
to join until the small group had grown enormously.
The group called themselves the Kymon Demone or the Dark
Warriors. The newly formed group had devised a plan to seize control of the
capital city Rayan and kill the emperor and his family during one of the
biggest festivals the people celebrated. The leader of the group was Yakuto, an
ex-soldier of the emperor’s army. The strategists were twins Shigai and Nagai.
Yakuto was expecting a perfect plan, but one of the captains, Shinto was going
to make sure it wasn’t.
Yakuto dismissed the teams of Evilions the night of the
celebration. Shinto walked out of the room with the others until they spread
their wings and took flight. Instead of flying with them he started to lag
behind. Arriving at his post he waited a few minutes before leaving again. He
decided against flying up to the palace balcony, he would probably be shot
before he even reached it. Finding the darkest shadow he hid in it and climbed
his way up there. Silently, Shinto stepped onto the balcony and slid in through
the doors. Entering the main hall he saw the emperor and his wife sitting in
their thrones mildly surprised to see anyone in the chamber. The Evilion
quickly bowed low to the ground. Only after they had accepted his presence did
he stand up and calmly inform them of Yakuto’s plan for the royal family as
well as the rest of the floating isles. The emperor and empress became alarmed
as they immediately told the guards in the chamber to go out and try to prevent
the ambush. When the guards left, only the three remained in the chamber.
Seconds later, Yakuto burst through the hall doors, causing them to slam
against the marble wall. He strode in and shot them an eerie smile that seemed
to pierce Shinto’s soul. The rest of the Kymon Demone generals enter the room
behind. They spread out on either side of their white haired leader, each
glancing at the traitor with a smirk dancing across their lips.
“Good job Shinto. This plan worked out much better.” Yakuto’s
voice seemed to slice through their minds, yet lingered in the air around them.
Shinto stumbled backward as if he’d just suffered a blow, his dark brown almost
black hair covering his face. The rebel leader turned his attention to the
Shitas that still sat shocked on their thrones.
“You see my dear emperor and empress, this was a plan to
leave the two of the most highly overrated families in history alone and
defenseless.” The eerie smile returned as the emperor stood up, his face almost
purple with fury. Shinto’s face showed the madness he felt at being toyed with.
Raising both his hands he did a quick yet smooth circular motion in the air in
front of him. Yakuto looked at the enraged Evilion out of the corner of his
eye. A small smirk replaced the chilling smile. Turning to face him, the leader
continued to stare at him.
“What do you plan to do. You want to
fight me?” Yakuto’s voice seemed to be devoid of all emotion. He raised an
eyebrow and closed his eyes giving the appearance of defeat. He raised both his
arms a few inches away form his side, both his eyes remaining closed for a few
seconds before he slowly opened them and stared straight through Shinto’s mind.
“I’m not the leader for nothing.” Yakuto’s voice had become
suddenly very cold, nearly sending chills down Shinto’s back. Yakuto closed his
open palms, creating fists in which two flaming swords appeared. They dripped
lava which created holes in the stone floor. As soon as he summoned the swords,
the white haired Evilion positioned himself in his fighting stance and waited
for Shinto to begin. This only seemed to coax the dark chocolate haired traitor
all the more. Summoning his power, he suddenly wielded a long thin blade. The
sword was black but it gave off a silver sheen when the light hit it. The hilt
was elaborate and snaked around Shinto’s hands. He too got into his battle
stance. His eyes were illuminating with madness.
“I won’t let you kill them Yakuto!” Shinto yelled.
Suddenly, without a step
of hesitation Yakuto seemed to teleport in front of his opponent, plunging both
his fire swords into his stomach. Shinto would have screamed if his throat
hadn’t become filled with blood. The blood seemed to pour out of his mouth as
Yakuto pushed the dying Evilion off of his swords. He landed with a thud on the
ground and watched with glazed eyes as his killer approached the throne. The
white haired leader stopped feet from the throne and mockingly bowed.
“Your Majesty, so good of you to join us!” His voice was
filled fake excitement, as the emperor only continued to glare.
“How dare you come here and kill innocent people.” The
emperor roared. Yakuto gave him a hurt expression, mocking the emperor’s words.
Quickly, he grabbed the Shita’s jaw and lifted him
off of his feet. The empress gave a high pitch scream that seemed to pierce
through the fog that hung over Shinto’s mind. His eyes still rested on the
throne yet his vision had become splotchy. Yakuto turned to face the wife with
a cold glare.
“Shut her up.” He hissed. Nagai and Shigai hastily obeyed
their leader’s orders. Ripping the empress’s sleeves they used the cloth to gag
her, muffling her cries. Yakuto turned around and faced the bleeding Evilion on
the floor, still holding the emperor by his jaw.
“Someone hold him up. I want Shinto to witness this because
without him, none of this would have been so easy.” Yakuto spoke clearly, so
everyone in the room could hear. Immediately, two men that had been standing
nearby grabbed Shinto’s limp arms, which caused him to choke up more blood, it
ran down his chin and dripped onto the already blood soaked shirt. The room
seemed to spin around, as he felt vomit rising and pushing its way through pool
of blood that always seemed to be there. Not able to hold it back, puke now
mixed with blood spilled out of his mouth and fell onto the floor. One of the
men grabbed Shinto’s hair and held his head up, forcing him to watch Yakuto.
The evil was evident in his face as he raised the emperor higher off the
ground.
Seconds later, a flame sword appeared in Yakuto’s free hand.
Shinto could hear himself trying to protest, but only more blood and vomit came
out. Lifting the sword, he slit the emperor’s main nerves, leaving him
paralyzed and in pain. The empress struggled against the twins hold, shrieking
even with the gag. Gracefully, Yakuto turned and slit her throat. She choked
for a few seconds before her head fell at an odd angle. Shinto flinched when he
heard the contact between Yakuto’s sword and the empress’s neck. He started
shaking uncontrollably, the shock of his leader’s wife’s death and the loss of
the blood seemed to be overwhelming.
Yakuto became bored with playing around, and the blood from
the emperor was starting to ruin his clothes. Dropping the emperor on his knees
and quickly sliced his head off. Shinto’s eyes grew wide as his vision was just
enough to see what had been going on. He tried to yell, but he hunched over and
began vomiting blood. Yakuto laughed at the bloody mess that had once been his
captain. Picking up the emperor’s decapitated head he threw it down at Shinto’s
knees. Shinto watched as his leader’s head rolled up to him and hitting his
knee stopped. Horror was evident on his pale, sweaty face as he lurched up the
last of the meal he’d eaten earlier that night. Yakuto gave a long loud laugh
that caused goose bumps to rise all over his body. Turning he
quickly made his way to the doorway.
“Leave him here to die with his precious emperor and
empress.” Those were his final words before he walked out of the room. Seconds
later the his followers followed, dropping Shinto on
the ground. As he fell, he noticed a faint sign of movement in the corner of
the room behind the long dark blue drapes. He was suddenly dealt with a
finishing blow. He felt glad that he was going to die after seeing the
emperor’s daughter. The last thing he saw was her horrified face.
The emperor’s daughter Geila was not supposed to enter the
hall until she was ready to leave for the festival but she’d wanted to ask her
parents something. She’d entered the throne room quietly, hiding behind the
drapes in the far corner when she noticed that an Evilion had entered the room.
Suddenly she heard the doors slam open and a group of people enter. She became
frightened and not wanting to be discovered, made sure she was well hidden
behind the dark velvet fabric. What she heard would haunt her for the rest of
her life. She could sense the sudden presence of magic and seconds later a
grotesque plunging sound. She heard her mother’s screams echoing throughout the
room, as she stole a quick glance from behind the drape. The Evilion that had
been talking to her parents was now laying on the floor bleeding. She could see
the back of her father yelling down at the man who was holding two flame
swords. The swords disappeared and the Evilion who’d been holding them was now
approaching her parents.
Geila watched as the Evilion sliced her mother’s throat and
killed her father slowly, before slicing off his head. Tears started pouring
down her face, as she covered her mouth so no sound could be heard. She wanted
to scream as loud as she could, but was just barely able to with hold it. Not
wanting to watch anymore she withdrew back behind the drape and cried silently.
After it had grown silent for a few minutes, Geila drew up courage to peer out
from behind the drape again. She noticed that the bleeding Evilion was just
barely alive and was watching her through scarcely living eyes. She looked at
him with a horrified expression and watched him die.
When Geila became queen of Rayan and empress of the floating
islands she banished all Evilions to the lands below. They would be hunted if
suspected of being in any of the cities. A deep hatred had enveloped her heart
for the Evilions after witnessing her parent’s death. She wanted them to feel
the pain she’d felt and she would make sure her children and her line after
that would follow in her steps.
Empress Geila died three centuries later in a battle against
the Evilions. The last thing she saw was Yakuto standing over her with a psychotic
look in his eyes. After her death, Geila’s children
followed what their mother had started of the legacy of hate towards the
Evilions. As years passed by it became custom to hunt and kill them, even
though sometimes many Shita’s were killed in the
process. But that was how it came to be. The Evilions, a banished demonic race
and the Shita’s a race who loved everything but hated
the Evilions.
Over the years, after the Evilions’ exile, they slowly began
to evolve into the ultimate killing machines. They appeared to enjoy the sight
of blood, overjoyed seeing Shita’s die
and suffer. Their complexion grew even paler to the point where they almost
seemed to glow in the night. Their eyes also glowed with an eerie aura. They
could also wield unimaginable power.
A prophecy had been created in those dark times. Two would
come together and save their world from the evil that was threatening to
swallow it up. One would deliver and the other would die with the peace of
Shyto in their hands.
