Really not expecting South Africa to look SO MUCH like South and West Texas - mesquite trees, prickly pears, toothache bushes and all. I guess it also smelled like Texas because I had my first allergy attack of the entire trip while driving through Krueger Park.
Jo�urg is home to 9 million and somewhere between 5 -7 million live in Soweto- SOuthWEstTOwnship. Forced to move here during the apartheid years, many blacks and coloreds choose to stay (albeit in the �better areas�) because of the shared sense of community and family.
