Legolas assumably grew up in the elven kindgom of Mirkwood that was ruled by his father, Thranduil. When the One Ring was found, Legolas was appointed to be in the Fellowship that was to protect Frodo. After Frodo struck off with Sam at Amon Hen, Legolas, Aragorn and Gimli went hunting for the Uruk-Hai who kidnapped Merry and Pippin. He survived the battle of Helm's Deep and many others to see the end of the war for Middle Earth. After the War, Legolas explored Middle-Earth with Gimli and traveled from the Glittering Caves to Mirkwood. After Gimli died, Legolas sailed Over Sea to the Grey Havens.
